Tried out a boss BD2 blues driver today - very nice. BUT (not sure if any of you will know him) Gwyn Ashton tells me the boss OD-3 is better. Another friend tells me the BD2 with keeley mod is better still. Hmmm.

Fender Tele, 60 years anniversary model
Fender Strat, off-the-rack American made 2007 model
D'Angelico Excel (Korean, and the loveliest Archtop; "modded" with Seymor Duncan '59 humbuckers)
Ibanez AK95 archtop, "modded" with Gibson '57 humbuckers
Eastwood's Airline Tuxedo, black and white (semi hollowbody)
Westone Rainbow 1 (semi hollowbody, E335 Japanese rip off from 83 - the bizarre "gem" of my collection, was my only guitar for a long time)

+ effects and amps. Nothing special in the amp department. I live in a flat, and I rarely play out. I recently got my old 1980s Roland Cube 60 watt amp cleaned up (all the pods were noisy to the point of making the amp useless). It is now a great amp for clean stuff, and sounds nice even at low volumes.

Used to have:
1964 Gibson SG because I wanted a guitar looking like Frank's. We never became good friends even after several adjustments. So I eventually got the Westone (I could afford that), and it outplayed the SG for me. Today, however, I am pissed that I sold the SG way to cheap.

I'm an Ibanez kind of guy...

Jem 77FP
Jem DNA No 54
EGEN 18
RG 1077
RG Art
Another Ibanez I can't remember the name of
Yamaha MS1512 Pacifica

Of these, the EGEN gets the most use..it's light, so is comfortable to wear for 2 hours, and the switching is very versatile- coil taps, H/S/H, and a steady Floyd. Plus, it's got a Kung fu grip, so it shits on anything else out there.

I used to play through a 2x12 Marshall combo, but now play a POD HD500 through a FRFR wedge/straight into the PA. This system works great for portability/versatility, and sound guys at big venues where we don't do our own sound love it cause it's straight into the board, no mics etc
Plus, I can plug straight into my DAW with the same sounds as I play live.

Tonewise, it might not be perfect- when you're playing on your own I'm sure nothing beats a good genuine tube amp, but I play in a six instrument line up, and any subtleties get lost in the mix.
