i could do VERY well without "Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul "Is this the same guy" McCartney.
I feel like puking whenever this song comes on.

I like this song once or twice a year. Best Christmas song = Christmas Time Is Here from the Charlie Brown cartoon. Or maybe the Drifters version of White Christmas.

As for a song I would erase.....hmm, I don't know....Dancing In the Dark by Bruce Springsteen.

Hit the nail on the head for me with this one Calvin. (I've got all of Guarldi's Charlie Brown stuff on CD. Christmas Time is Here is also covered on Zorn's reecent album)

I would like to erase "Why Does it always rain on me?" by Travis.
Biggest pile of shite written by a stupid and miserable bunch of turds.

It used to blare out of everywhere wherever you went back around 1999/2000 and I was heavily into Trout Mask Replica at the time and it used to really p1ss me off. I also shared a house during University with 4 other blokes and one of them always played shit music. Needless to say, this was played over and over and over........ There's always one isn't there!?!

I think that -as much as I truly hate Paul McCartney's music in general, and especially "Wonderful Christmas Time" and his other Christmas output- without the mediocre the good wouldn't be as good as it is. And you might say that it would encourage even greater musical advancement, but then the music you love so much now would surely become the mediocre music that you want to get rid of in the future. Or maybe not, after all "musical advancement" of the past century has turned increasingly toward the seemingly deliberately obtuse, where now the height of sophistication is a guy making a few disparate noises on a violin and then crumpling up the score paper and hitting the music stand with his bow. And yes, the instance I just described is one that I actually witnessed.

I'm feeling a bit feverish today, so if that didn't make any sense or if I contradicted myself, that's my excuse.

I have no feelings about the song (possibly I wasn't using the radio when it was being flogged)....But...I like it as the background to this clip
The older feller is Joy Adamson's husband, who was with them in case the lion attacked the two men - that's a dart-pipe he's carrying. The lion had apparently found wives and was leading a 'pride', so they thought he might not recognize the two men, and would gobble them up.
Three months after this was shot, Adamson was brutally murdered, culprits not found. At least that's what I read a couple of years ago.

And I used to hate 'Tell Laura I Looooove Her'

Joni's not the greatest singer but she's a pretty good songwriter. The ones Tim Curry covered are awesome at least.

Louie, Louie.

(What would "Plastic People" sound like, with no "Louie, Louie"?)
