if i read that list again, im going to throw up. what kind of popularity contest do you have to win to be on the top of that list (or who do you have to blow?). i saw the assclown from the white stripes in the top 20 i think, yeah i forgot about all the sick compositions and nasty solos hes done. theyve been in the pop charts for what, 2 weeks now? not bad. >:( >:( >:(

I just noticed something else. Henry Vestine (the guy from Canned Heat) used to play with Zappa around '65-'66.

How many marginal buyers would have decided to buy this issue, solely because it advertised having this list inside?

This whole list is a bad joke. Guess we're lucky that Zappa is mentioned at all.

Eugene Chadbourne and Marc Ribot are not even mentioned. Outright pathetic...

The editors of Rolling Stone should have considered the influence of certain players when they were compiling this "best guitarists ever"-list. Eddie Van Halen influenced a whole generation of guitar players in the 80s, surely he deserves a higher ranking than #70. Do you ever hear guitar players mentioning Ike Turner or Joan Jett as an important influence on their own playing? I don't.. The White Stripes haven't even been around long enough to assess the importance of Jack Whites guitar playing.

Jazz and classical players aren't mentioned at all, and even as a "rock players only"-list, this thing is heavily flawed.
