This is interesting. It makes me realize I need to pay more attention to our neighbors up north.

MIJ, I did read that, just wasn't clear if you had still voted that way or not. Just to be clear, Bloc does more for their constituency, and has better and more reliable governing than any other party in Canada, no question . You might be interested to note MIJ, the upcoming generations are far less swayed by the way the Liberals use the Quebec seperation issues as a way to seem like they are a strong, powerful leader. For our American friends, picture our Canadian leaders, using Quebec the way George Bush uses terrorism. Not to the same degree, but it's a similar tactic. You might be pleased to note that the Bloc, if it ran nationally, might have won most of those NDP seats. Seriously. I for one don't want to see Quebec leave Canada, because it is by far the best province to live in, and an example to the rest of Canada in terms of social, not to mention artistic cultural values. Having said that, I fully support a decentralization of power and money from our national system, though it is in everyone's best interest, (including Quebec) to remain a part of Canada in terms of keeping a common currency, and free trading borders and such.) Coming from Northern Ontario, I know what it's like to see both a national, and provincial system COMPLETELY out of phase with the reality of our region.

My two cents on this. I come from the poor east coast of the country. We are on the handout side of the federal govmnt. If you look at the census figures you can see that the rich provinces are draining the poor ones of its human ressources. People go to were the jobs are. I can't count the number of high school friends who went west after graduation. If decentralisation comes to be, will that not exarcebate the movement? Giving more power might help the smaller provinces but they just don't have the critical mass to really go it alone. They need more money for infrastructure than they can get from local taxes. IMHO.
Your right about Alberta, they are going to be spoiled rotten.

The independant candidate, from what I've read, lost his radio show after making some racist comments. He claims that they were taken out of context, and champaigned as an MP to bring changes within the CRTC (which is a corrupt, facsist full of shit organization anyways). So I guess it reamains to be seen what this guy is all about.
The Harper government is going to be pretty moderate this run, trying to assuage the fears of middle of the road Canadians to push for a massive majority next election, (which might be in two years anyways). We shall see. If they CON enough people, we could see some scary shit next time around.
How much do you guys love it their party abbreviates to CON!!!! fucking hilarious! I love that all election night, conservatives were written as CON. Awesome.

Not when they're running around with your tax dolallars and law books, with all their corporate friends crammed in the back seat.

I used to love the unibrews! Haven't had them in a while, but my first time drinking one was on newyears eve 2000 in Tremblant, seeing a beer called "Le Fin Du Monde" seemed appropriate! Maudite is my favorite though.
