workingman's blues #2

there's an evenin' haze settlin' over the town
starlight by the edge of the creek
the buyin' power of the proletariat's gone down
money's gettin' shallow and weak
the place I love best is a sweet memory
it's a new path that we trod
they say low wages are a reality
if we want to compete abroad

my cruel weapons have been put on the shelf
come sit down on my knee
you are dearer to me than myself
as you yourself can see
I'm listenin' to the steel rails hum
got both eyes tight shut
just sitting here trying to keep the hunger from
creeping it's way into my gut

meet me at the bottom, don't lag behind
bring me my boots and shoes
you can hang back or fight your best on the front line
sing a little bit of these workingman's blues

now, I'm sailin' on back, ready for the long haul
tossed by the winds and the seas
I'll drag ‘em all down to hell and I'll stand ‘em at the wall
I'll sell ‘em to their enemies
I'm tryin' to feed my soul with thought
gonna sleep off the rest of the day
sometimes no one wants what we got
sometimes you can't give it away

now the place is ringed with countless foes
some of them may be deaf and dumb
No man, no woman knows
the hour that sorrow will come
in the dark I hear the night birds call
I can hear a lover's breath
I sleep in the kitchen with my feet in the hall
sleep is like a temporary death

meet me at the bottom, don't lag behind
bring me my boots and shoes
you can hang back or fight your best on the front line
sing a little bit of these workingman's blues

well, they burned my barn, they stole my horse
I can't save a dime
I got to be careful, I don't want to be forced
into a life of continual crime
I can see for myself that the sun is sinking
how I wish you were here to see
tell me now, am I wrong in thinking
that you have forgotten me?

now they worry and they hurry and they fuss and they fret
they waste your nights and days
them I will forget
but you I'll remember always
old memories of you to me have clung
you've wounded me with words
gonna have to straighten out your tongue
it's all true, everything you have heard

meet me at the bottom, don't lag behind
bring me my boots and shoes
you can hang back or fight your best on the front line
sing a little bit of these workingman's blues

in you, my friend, I find no blame
wanna look in my eyes, please do
no one can ever claim
that I took up arms against you
all across the peaceful sacred fields
they will lay you low
they'll break your horns and slash you with steel
I say it so it must be so

now I'm down on my luck and I'm black and blue
gonna give you another chance
I'm all alone and I'm expecting you
to lead me off in a cheerful dance
got a brand new suit and a brand new wife
I can live on rice and beans
some people never worked a day in their life
don't know what work even means

meet me at the bottom, don't lag behind
bring me my boots and shoes
you can hang back or fight your best on the front line
sing a little bit of these workingman's blues

I Was Wrong
(Bley)

Well I used to think this talk of spaceships
Was just so much hype
I really believed there was nothing out there
Except the Stars and the Stripes
I mean the scientists said they found out that
There was nothing there on Mars
So as far as I was concerned it was just
The name of a candy bar

I'm one of those kind of people
Who need proof before they believe
Close Encounters left me cold
And Star Trek seemed naive
When it came to UFO's
I was of the scientific school
Little green men with pointed heads
Were for little kids and fools

But I was wrong
I was wrong
I was real wrong
I was wrong
All along
I was so wrong

The people who believed that stuff
Were always kind of odd
I mean you might as well go all the way
And believe in Jesus and God
I knew I had the kind of mind
That wasn't easily satisfied
And besides I had enough problems on earth
To keep me occupied

And then one night I was standing
Looking at the stars
And I heard something that sounded like
A hundred space guitars
The music was so weird it could have
been the theme from Jaws
Then I saw something flying over my head
I thought it was Santa Claus

But I was wrong
I was wrong
I was real wrong
I was wrong
All along
I was so wrong

Odd Jobs

the rug ripped up in cloth popcorn balls
the walls an old candy striped sack
in the corner wrinkled black and white
a table held up by legs
the peeled back red enameled mouth of linoleum screamed
at the pasteboard door
a knob rolled off in some corner sticky
a curtain blew into a sink
dead flies and newspapers
charred fire brown wings and toast
hobo ain't been around for some time
the gate danced without its paint on
odd jobs is written on
spiders were the window's eyes
the sun made them look silver
the little girl from in back of the clothesline
cast a shadow like a crow
its beak spoke open
why doesn't odd jobs come around anymore
he used to ride his form-a-heap bike
and his basket was a whole candy store
he used to make x's from door to door
all the women and the young girls around here
ask why old jobs don't come on home
and the gate without its paint on
danced and creaked and moaned
here he comes peddling up on his form-a-heap bike
a bag of skin and bones
spokes were scraping two rust fenders

CIRCUS

We put up our tent, on a dark green knoll
outside of town by the train tracks
and a seagull dump
Topping the bill was Horse Face Ethel
And her Marvelous Pigs in satin

We pounded our steaks in the ground
All powder brown
And the branches spread
like scary fingers reaching

We were in a pasture in Kankakee
And one eyed Myra, the queen of the galley,
Who trained the ostrich and the camels
She looked at me squinty with her one good eye,
in a Roy Orbison t-shirt
as she bottle fed an Orangutan named Tripod

And then there was Yodeling Elaine
the Queen of the air,
who wore a dollar sign medallion
and she had a tiny bubble of spittle
around her nostril
and a little rusty tear,
for she had lassoed and lost
another tipsy sailor

And over in the burnt yellow tent
by the frozen tractor,
The music was like electric sugar
and Zuzu Bolin played "Stavin' Chain"
and Mighty Tiny on the saw
and he threw his head back with aaaa
mouth full of gold teeth
And they played lopsided heart
And moon over Dog Street

And by the time they played Moanin Low
I was soakin wet and wild eyed
And Doctor Bliss slipped me a preparation
and I fell asleep with 'Livery Stable Blues' in my ear
And me and Molly Hoey drank Pruno and Koolaid

She had a Tattoo gun made out of a cassette motor and a guitar string
and she soaked a hanky in 3 roses
and rubbed it on the spot
and she drew a rickety heart
and a bent arrow
and it hurt
like
hell

And Funeral Wells spun Poodle Murphy
on the target
as he threw his hardware,

Only once in Sheboygan did he miss
at a matinee on Diamond Pier and
she'd never let him forget it
They were doing two shows
and she had a high fever and
he took off a piece of her ear
and Tip Little told her she should
Leave the bum, but
Poodle said, "he fetched me last time I run"

and I'd like to hammer this ring
into a bullet
and I wish I had some whiskey and a gun
My dear, I wish I had some
whiskey and a gun my dear

leave th bum, leeave th bum

.. Waits '04

I bought a toothbrush, some toothpaste, a flannel for my face
Pajamas, a hairbrush, new shoes and a case.
I said to my reflection, Let's get out of this place.
Passed the church and the steeple, the laundry on the hill
Billboards and the buildings
Memories of it still keep calling
And calling
But forget it all I know I will
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
What's been going on
Now that you have gone
There's no other
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
I'm at the carpark, the airport, the baggage carousel
The people keep on grabbing, ain't wishing I was well
I said, "It's no occasion. It's no story I can tell."
At my bedside, empty pocket, a foot without a sock
Your body gets much closer
I fumble for the clock, alarmed by
The seduction
I wish that it would stop
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
What's been going on
Now that you have gone there's no other
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
I bought a novel, some perfume, a fortune all for you
But it's not my conscience that hates to be untrue.
I asked of my reflection,
Tell me what is there to do?
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered
What's been going on
Now that you have gone there's no other
Tempted by the fruit of another
Tempted but the truth is discovered

The camera pans the cocktail glass,
behind a blind of plastic plants;
I found the lady with the fat diamond ring
then you know I can't remember a damn thing
I think it's one of those de ja vu things,
or a dream that's tryin' to tell me something
Or will I ever stop thinkin' about it
I don't know, I doubt it
Subterranean by design,
I wonder what I would find if I met you,
let my eyes caress you,
until I meet the thought of Missess Princess Who?
I often wonder what makes her work
I guess I'll leave that question to the experts,
assuming that there are some out there
they're probably alone, solitaire
I can remember when I caught up
with a pastime intimate friend
She said, "Bet you're probably gonna say I look lovely,
but you probably don't think nothin' of me."
She was right, though, I can't lie
She's just one of those corners in my mind,
and I just put her right back with the rest
That's the way it goes, I guess

sue me, sue you blues (george harrison)

you serve me
and I'll serve you
swing your partners, all get screwed
bring your lawyer
and I'll bring mine
get together, and we could have a bad time

it's affidavit swearing time
sign it on the dotted line
hold your bible in your hand
now all that's left is to
find yourself a new band...

we're gonna play the sue me, sue you blues
we're gonna play the sue me, sue you blues

hold the block on money flow
move it into joint escrow
court receiver, laughs, and thrills
but in the end we just pay those lawyers their bills

when you serve me
and I serve you
swing your partners, all get screwed
bring your lawyer
and I'll bring mine
get together, and we could have a bad time

we're gonna play the sue me, sue you blues

I'm tired of playing the sue me, sue you blues

While Nat King Cole sings "Welcome To My World"
You request some song you hate you sentimental fool
And it's the force of habit
If it moves then you fuck it
If it doesn't move you stab it
And I thought I heard "The Working Man's Blues"
He went out to work that night and wasted his breath
Outside there was a public execution
Inside he died a thousand deaths

And they pulled him out of the cold cold ground
And they pulled him out of the cold cold ground
And they pulled him out of the cold cold ground
And they put him in a suit of lights

In the perforated first editions
Where they advocate the hangman's noose
Then tell the sorry tale of the spent Princess
Her uncouth escort looking down her dress

Anyway they say that she wears the trousers
And learnt everything that she does
And doesn't know if she should tell him yes
Or let him go

And they pulled him out of the cold cold ground
And they pulled him out of the cold cold ground
And they pulled him out of the cold cold ground
And they put him in a suit of lights

Well it's a dog's life in a rope leash or a diamond collar
It's enough to make you think right now
But you don't bother
For goodness sake as you cry and shake
Let's keep your face down in the dirt where you belong
And think of all the pleasure that it brings
Though you know that it's wrong

And there's still life in your body
But most of it's leaving
Can't you give us all a break
Can't you stop breathing

And I thought I heard "The Working Man's Blues"
I went to work that night and wasted my breath
Outside they're painting tar on somebody
It's the closest to a work of art that they will ever be

And they pulled him out of the cold cold ground
And they pulled him out of the cold cold ground
And they pulled him out of the cold cold ground
And they put him in a suit of lights
And they put him in a suit of lights

The Indians send signals
From the rocks above the pass
The cowboys take positions
In the bushes and the grass
The squaw is with the Corporal
She is tied against the tree
She doesn't mind the language
It's the beating she don't need
She lets loose all the horses
When the Corporal is asleep
And he wakes to find the fire's dead
And arrows in his hats
And Davy Crockett rides around
And says it's cool for cats
It's cool for cats - Cool for cats

The Sweeney's doing ninety
'Cause they've got the word to go
They get a gang of villains
In a shed up at Heathrow
They're counting out the fivers
When the hand cuffs lock again
In and out of Wandsworth
With the numbers on their names
It's funny how their missus
Always look the bleeding same
And meanwhile at the station
There's a couple of likely lads
Who swear like how's your father
And they're very cool for cats
They're cool for cats - Cool for cats

To change the mood a little
I've been posing down the pub
On seeing my reflection
I'm looking slightly rough
I fancy this, I fancy that
I wanna be so flash
I give a little muscle
And I spend a little cash
But all I get is bitter and a nasty little rash
And by the time I'm sober
I've forgotten what I've had
And ev'rybody tells me that
It's cool to be a cat
Cool for cats - Cool for cats

Shake up at the disco
And I think I've got a pull
I ask her lots of questions
As she hangs on to the wall
I kiss her for the first time
And then I take her home
I'm invited in for coffee
And I give the dog a bone
She likes to go to discos
But she's never on her own
I said I'll see you later
And I give her some old chat
But it's not like that on the TV
When it's cool for cats
It's cool for cats - Cool for cats

The Dark Side of the Moon

Breathe, breathe in the air.
Don't be afraid to care.
Leave but don't leave me.
Look around and choose your own ground.

Long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be.

Run, rabbit run.
Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done
Don't sit down it's time to dig another one.

For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race towards an early grave.

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.

Home, home again.
I like to be here when I can.
When I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire.
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.

Money, get away.
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay.
Money, it's a gas.
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash.
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I'll buy me a football team.

Money, get back.
I'm all right Jack keep your hands off of my stack.
Money, it's a hit.
Don't give me that do goody good bullshit.
I'm in the high-fidelity first class traveling set
And I think I need a Lear jet.

Money, it's a crime.
Share it fairly but don't take a slice of my pie.
Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil today.
But if you ask for a raise it's no surprise that they're
giving none away.

"HuHuh! I was in the right!"
"Yes, absolutely in the right!"
"I certainly was in the right!"
"You was definitely in the right. That geezer was cruising for a
bruising!"
"Yeah!"
"Why does anyone do anything?"
"I don't know, I was really drunk at the time!"
"I was just telling him, he couldn't get into number 2. He was asking
why he wasn't coming up on freely, after I was yelling and
screaming and telling him why he wasn't coming up on freely.
It came as a heavy blow, but we sorted the matter out"

Us, and them
And after all we're only ordinary men.
Me, and you.
God only knows it's noz what we would choose to do.
Forward he cried from the rear
and the front rank died.
And the general sat and the lines on the map
moved from side to side.
Black and blue
And who knows which is which and who is who.
Up and down.
But in the end it's only round and round.
Haven't you heard it's a battle of words
The poster bearer cried.
Listen son, said the man with the gun
There's room for you inside.

"I mean, they're not gunna kill ya, so if you give 'em a quick short,
sharp, shock, they won't do it again. Dig it? I mean he get off
lightly, 'cos I would've given him a thrashing - I only hit him once!
It was only a difference of opinion, but really...I mean good manners
don't cost nothing do they, eh?"

Down and out
It can't be helped but there's a lot of it about.
With, without.
And who'll deny it's what the fighting's all about?
Out of the way, it's a busy day
I've got things on my mind.
For the want of the price of tea and a slice
The old man died.

The lunatic is on the grass.
The lunatic is on the grass.
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs.
Got to keep the loonies on the path.

The lunatic is in the hall.
The lunatics are in my hall.
The paper holds their folded faces to the floor
And every day the paper boy brings more.

And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

The lunatic is in my head.
The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change
You re-arrange me 'til I'm sane.
You lock the door
And throw away the key
There's someone in my head but it's not me.

And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear
You shout and no one seems to hear.
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

All that you touch
All that you see
All that you taste
All you feel.
All that you love
All that you hate
All you distrust
All you save.
All that you give
All that you deal
All that you buy,
beg, borrow or steal.
All you create
All you destroy
All that you do
All that you say.
All that you eat
And everyone you meet
All that you slight
And everyone you fight.
All that is now
All that is gone
All that's to come
and everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon.

Lyrics by Roger Waters

A National Architect by Black Sabbath

I am the world that hides
The universal secret of all time
Destruction of the empty spaces
Is my one and only crime
I've lived a thousand times
I found out what it means to be believed
The thoughts and images
The unborn child that never was conceived

When little worlds collide
I'm trapped inside my embryonic cell
And flashing memories
Are cast into the never ending well
The name that scorns the face
The child that never sees the cause of man
The deathly darkness that
Belies the fate of those who never ran

Well i know its hard for you
To know the reason why
And i know you'll understand
More when it's time to die
Don't believe the life you have
Will be the only one
You have to let your body sleep
To let your soul live on
Love has given life to you
And now it's your concern

Unseen eyes of inner life
Will make your soul return
Still i look but not to touch
The seeds of life are sown
Curtain of the future falls
The secret stays unknown

Just remember love is life
And hate is living death

Treat your life for what it's worth
And live for every breath
Looking back i've lived and learned
But now i'm wondering
Here i wait and only guess
What this next life will bring

highlands

well my heart’s in the highlands gentle and fair
honeysuckle blooming in the wildwood air
bluebelles blazing where the aberdeen waters flow
well my heart’s in the highland
I’m gonna go there when I feel good enough to go

windows were shakin’ all night in my dreams
everything was exactly the way that it seems
woke up this morning and I looked at the same old page
same ol’ rat race
life in the same ol’ cage

I don’t want nothing from anyone, ain’t that much to take
wouldn’t know the difference between a real blonde and a fake
feel like a prisoner in a world of mystery
I wish someone would come
and push back the clock for me

well my heart’s in the Highlands wherever I roam
that’s where I’ll be when I get called home
the wind, it whispers to the buckeyed trees in rhyme
well my heart’s in the Highland
I can only get there one step at a time

I’m listening to neil young, I gotta turn up the sound
someone’s always yelling turn it down
feel like I’m drifting
drifting from scene to scene
I’m wondering what in the devil could it all possibly mean?

insanity is smashing up against my soul
you can say I was on anything but a roll
if I had a conscience, well, I just might blow my top
what would I do with it anyway
maybe take it to the pawn shop

my heart’s in the highlands at the break of dawn
by the beautiful lake of the black swan
bg white clouds like chariots that swing down low
well my heart’s in the highlands
only place left to go

I’m in boston town, in some restaurant
I got no idea what I want
well, maybe I do but I’m just really not sure
waitress comes over
nobody in the place but me and her

it must be a holiday, there’s nobody around
she studies me closely as I sit down
she got a pretty face and long white shiny legs
she says, “what’ll it be?”
I say, “I don’t know, you got any soft boiled eggs?”

she looks at me, says, “I’d bring you some
but we’re out of ’m, you picked the wrong time to come”
then she says, “I know you’re an artist, draw a picture of me!”
I say, “I would if I could, but
I don’t do sketches from memory”

“well,” she says, “I’m right here in front of you, or haven’t you looked?”
I say, “all right, I know, but I don’t have my drawing book!”
she gives me a napkin, she says, “you can do it on that”
I say, “yes I could, but
I don’t know where my pencil is at!”

she pulls one out from behind her ear
she says, “all right now, go ahead, draw me, I’m standing right here”
I make a few lines and I show it for her to see
well she takes the napkin and throws it back
and says, “that don’t look a thing like me!”

I said, “oh, kind miss, it most certainly does”
she says, “you must be jokin’.” I say, “I wish I was!”
then she says, “you don’t read women authors, do you?”
least that’s what I think I hear her say
“well,” I say, “how would you know and what would it matter anyway?”

“well,” she says, “you just don’t seem like you do!”
I said, “you’re way wrong”
she says, “which ones have you read then?” I say, “I read erica jong!”
she goes away for a minute
and I slide up out of my chair
I step outside back to the busy street but nobody’s going anywhere

well my heart’s in the highlands with the horses and hounds
way up in the border country, far from the towns
with the twang of the arrow and a snap of the bow
my heart’s in the highlands
can’t see any other way to go

every day is the same thing out the door
feel further away then ever before
some things in life, it gets too late to learn
well, I’m lost somewhere
I must have made a few bad turns

I see people in the park forgetting their troubles and woes
they’re drinking and dancing, wearing bright-colored clothes
all the young men with their young women looking so good
well, I’d trade places with any of them
in a minute, if I could

I’m crossing the street to get away from a mangy dog
talking to myself in a monologue
I think what I need might be a full-length leather coat
somebody just asked me
if I registered to vote

the sun is beginning to shine on me
but it’s not like the sun that used to be
the party’s over and there’s less and less to say
I got new eyes
everything looks far away

well, my heart’s in the highlands at the break of day
over the hills and far away
there’s a way to get there and I’ll figure it out somehow
but I’m already there in my mind
and that’s good enough for now

The album Radio K.A.O.S by Roger Waters contains a Morse code message at the beginning and end of the album. This is the "hidden verse" of "Tide is Turning":

Now the past is over but you are not alone
Together we'll fight Sylvester Stallone
We will not be dragged down in his South China Sea
of macho bullshit and mediocrity

This verse, expressing Waters' dislike of the way Sylvester Stallone movies glorify violent actions, is alluded to in the final spoken line of the song, "The tide is turning, Sylvester."

Hey, you. Hey, you. Hey, you, come here. Come here, you. Come here, you. Hey, you, come here. You. I said you. I said you. I said you. I said you. I said you, with the tail. You come here. You. Yes, you. Come here. Go away. Come here. Hey, you, come here. Come here. Come here. Go away. Come here. Go away. Stop. Come here. Come here. Come here. Go away. Go. Come here. Hey, you. I said you. I said you. I said you, mate. I said you. I'm looking at you, mate. I said you, mate. I said, you come here. I said, go away. Didn't you kill my brother?

My sister in law was an oak tree, or do I mean a manhole cover?

I've got a brain like a jukebox.

Here, didn't you kill my brother?

I got a job as a petrol pump for the government, undercover.

Come here. I want to talk to you.

Here, didn't you kill my brother?

Didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill my brother?

Didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill my brother?

(I like a laugh!)

(I like a laugh!)

You're the best pal a girl ever had.

I wouldn't drop you for another.

Give us a pound or I'll kick your teeth in!

Here, didn't you kill my brother?

I like strangling budgies.

(I'm what you'd call an animal lover.)

I like North Korean Sherry.

Here, didn't you kill my brother?

You know, I've only known you for ten minutes. I've only known you for ten minutes, but you're the best pal I've ever had! You're the bestest pal I've ever had! You're my mate! You and me, mate! You're my Here, didn't you kill my brother?

Didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill my brother?

Didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill my brother?

Didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill my brother?

Didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill my brother?

(I like a laugh)

(It's a funny old world)

Hello, mate. How you keeping?

Hello, mate. How you keeping?

Hello, mate. How you keeping?

Here, didn't you kill my brother?

I saw ya.

I saw ya.

Didn't you kill my brother?

You bought him a pint of lager, and then you killed him.

You killed my brother.

I saw ya.

I saw ya.

Didn't you kill my brother?

You did a very nice job.

I really must congratulate ya.

Didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill my brother?

Didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill my brother?

Didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill my brother?

Didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill my brother?

Didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill my brother?

Didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill, didn't ya kill my brother?

(I like a laugh.)

(I like a laugh.)

(I like like like like like a laugh.)

the scientist writes a letter

dear julia,
unless chance finds us face to face again
this is the last you'll hear from me.
I spent this sunday, a long afternoon,
freezing at my friend's house by the sea. we men of science... you know.
I've returned to my research in magnetic fields.
it's funny how attractive indifference can be. my sense of failure...
it's not so important. electricity means so much more to me.
we men of science... you know...
it's snowing again, seems like it's always snowing.
sit down to write and it's so cold.
outside my window, there's a tree so white I can hardly look at it.
It's quiet here.
I look thru my glass at patterns all so well defined.
please send my winter coat soon as you can
... I find I have no other lines... we men of science... you know...
all the best... all the best, julia

did I post this one before? well, if I didn't, I should have.
one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite albums. ever.
