Ive done my part. Now sign the petition and help jam a big foot up the Zappa Familys ASS!

Why don't you jam that big foot up your own ass instead of posting this thread and link in every forum on the board?

Its only three. Not the whole board. The Roxy Film is important. More important than Thing Fish, Joe's Corsage or the "Lord of the Rings"

the Zappa family are sitting on these mountains of material and jerking each other off.

That quote is from last year. You poor, delusional fool.

But you thought you might as well say that Joe had already responded to your petition. Right? (Well, you have now wisely edited it out - but hey, Joe is not playing this evening, so he could have responded.)

I don't think a petition would be the road to go. More like a telethon.

What is pathetic is to make a fake signature in your petition by Joe Travers, and quote his year old statement into the comment space. Gee, this will help a lot!!!!! That's not a half-joke. It's full stupidity!!!

I think we should kind of raise an army and besiege the UMRK and not let anyone out before they've released that fucking Roxy DVD we've been waiting for for centuries now.

The problem that most people demanding the Roxy DVD have is they seem unable to understand that the Roxy DVD is not in the can.
It requires A LOT of work and A LOT of money to bring it to a releasable state.

I guess the Roxy DVD might be un-profitable from a business point of view. Perhaps in a few years and a few more ZPZ tours down the line when the ZFT have built a larger following it might be viable.

Don't get me wrong. It should be released but unless we have a whip round I can't see it happening any time soon.

This has never been my problem with the ZFT, they have stated a couple times that it was going to be a mammoth undertaking and cost a lot.
My issue is if it is going to take years, and is not even done, then don't promote it with a cock-tease trailer on Baby Snakes. It's just bad business.

Let's hope they use some of the profit (if any) from the ZPZ tour for this purpose, and not for more compilation cd's. :D

I have signed because every means is good to put the pressure on ZFT.
Of course, the release of such a DBD requires money but......we need Roxy !

I thought it was pretty encouraging that they showed some footage at the ZPZ concerts. Apparently they're making some progress with synching and editing the audio + video. Still, as with anything promised by the ZFT, don't hold your breath until you actually hold the product in your own hands.

One thing I did notice is that FZ apparently had some tuning problems with his SG during the show, at least during Dupree's Paradise. I do hope this doesn't mean some of the footage will be unusable (no way in hell would FZ himself release any recordings with his guitar out of tune).

In the latest issue of Guitar Player, they interviewed Joe, who said it's definitely not a finished product (my words, not his). It needs to be digitized and synched with Frank's audio sources. He said there is NO BUDGET for it at this point in time (his words).

So what does that mean? Is it that it's just sitting there, partially done, with no immediage plan for completion? Is it dead? Who knows. I know it would sell, if they'd finish it and release it. Think of how many copies they could have sold at the zpz shows, if they'd gotten it finished with zpz dollars.

Maybe we can get Jerry Lewis to host a telethon for the ZFT... (la la la nice lady)

But seriously, if there hasn't been a budget to finish it for seven years or even longer, what are the odds it will ever see the light of day anyway? Unless there's some major sort of Frank Zappa revival, I don't think we'll ever see it on the market.

I Don't Even Care about the Roxy DVD anymore...

I'd rather see Dance Me This and Trance Fusion being released.
I can't understand why they're sitting on stuff which Zappa completed himself before his death.
He meant to release them, did he not?

Also, I'd like to see The Rage And The Fury.

Roxy is the Love of My Life, but I'm not about to Stuff Up the Cracks, either. Because Broken Hearts Are For Assholes.
