You have mentioned a Portuguese guitarrist, I was not familiar with, but I have heard Madredeus. Is he the guitar player? :D (and Roberto Leal :P) ...

lol, o roberto leal é um monte de estrume

Anyway, if you're referring to Sérgio Godinho, he's not a guitarist, he's a composer. I think he plays rhythm guitar occasionally. He's pretty good, really, if you like pop and folk, and are familiar with portuguese roots. I'd show you his myspace, but I think you'd get the wrong impression. Not really his best work there IMO. I'm not a big fan of Madredeus but they're innovative in what they do.

Right now what I'm really fond of is this:

Check it out!

E muito agradecido pela dica..

Hello!

I am so happy that other people in the world are enjoying hermeto's music.
I have had the chance to see hermeto live and we (the audience) and hermeto were singing for over 15 minutes.
I, myself being a young Zappa fan (18 yrs), will never be able to see Zappa live (I have been to Zappa Plays Zappa though) and being able to experience a concert by such a genious like Hermeto is indeed filling the gap. Maybe even enriching it ;)
People sometimes wonder why I don't like dancing in clubs and I tell them it is because they do not play Hermeto's music. Because that music contains enough energy to dance on. That is also why I like his music, it can be very complex but remains danceable! (Munde Verde Esperanca's, Renan is a personal favourite of mine)
Anyhow, Thank you so much for all these records. I was still missing 4 of them! My collection is now complete!

^Some cool links for Hermeto albums there. On the right side of the page, there's a list of different groups and artists. They're in alphabetical order. Scroll down a bit and you'll see Hermeto's name. Simply click on the album you want, and then it will open a new window. Click on the album cover and you can download the album from RapidShare. :)

Listen to this theme and tell me if it don't have a "resemblance" (melody and rythmically wise) with some Frank's synclavier pieces (nice kettle solo inside) ...

And a wonderful show from Norway 1989 for all of you torrenteers:

Happy Zappy Hermetic new year for all!

Shut up and play yer bass flute!
Hermeto actully tells a woman in the audience to shut up, during his bass flute solo while performing the standard Autumn Leaves (around 6:41 min):

Sorry I don't have that LP, it is quite rare. I've looked for alternate files but couldn't find it. You can buy it somewhere for 9 cents, though. Look for the Brazilian Adventure CD (it is an alternate name). The Bells track is really gorgeus! Good Luck!

Try Googling with these keywords: Loronix Lagoa da Canoa
Then, you'll find a page for the French CD with two bonus tracks.
