You got it. And I don't understand why this man in desperate need of a bath is featured on this forum.

Tell me, what else do you know about "Brazilian music in general"?

Bath? I didn't get you joke. Are you talking about Larry "WildMan" Fischer?

Hermeto is featured here because he is a groundbreaking genious, that is why...

But here it is your bath anyway  :

Any chance of a re-upload of some of those albums? I can't find them on the torrent site I use. :P

Yes, Eu e Eles is the record Hermeto plays every single instrument: percusions, mandolin, piano, melodica, accordeon, flutes, brass, hosehold objects, etc...

ABC said the first track on the link above is switched and asked me to up it, so here it is:

Hermeto e Grupo live at Hotel Hylton 1987 performing "Certeza", a beautiful unreleased ballad by Hermeto. This was the day after Jaco Pastorius' death, and Hermeto dedicates the song to him.

Hermeto & Grupo playing "Viva Búzios" at the Búzios Jazz Festival, a tune Hermeto composed the day before the concert paying homage to the city [Búzios = beautiful Brazilian beach near Rio].

[I love his comments: "I will leave the score here in case any musician is interested in playing it"... That is Hermeto.]

Hello!

I am so happy that other people in the world are enjoying hermeto's music.
I have had the chance to see hermeto live and we (the audience) and hermeto were singing for over 15 minutes.
I, myself being a young Zappa fan (18 yrs), will never be able to see Zappa live (I have been to Zappa Plays Zappa though) and being able to experience a concert by such a genious like Hermeto is indeed filling the gap. Maybe even enriching it ;)
People sometimes wonder why I don't like dancing in clubs and I tell them it is because they do not play Hermeto's music. Because that music contains enough energy to dance on. That is also why I like his music, it can be very complex but remains danceable! (Munde Verde Esperanca's, Renan is a personal favourite of mine)
Anyhow, Thank you so much for all these records. I was still missing 4 of them! My collection is now complete!

I know what you mean, I will never be able to see Zappa and since ZPZ never seem to turn up in England I fear I shall never get to have a true live FZ experience. I would very much like to see Hermeto Pascoal live, though I suspect he doesn't go to england either.

I guess we all are going to at least attend a monster FZ gig in heaven... 8)

Hermeto plays in the UK every now and then, and there is a major UK big band project that plays Hermeto's music and arrangements with him on stage, that happened at least some 4 different years at the Barbican in London.

Here is a sample from the 2001 gig, probably broadcasted by BBC:

Enjoy!

Thanks, though since I'm not a premium rapidshare user i'll have to wait until my 'download limit' has gone, I was able to download Slaves Mass earlier and am looking forward to listening to that. At the moment I'm a bit busy though, writing some music. :)

Hello,

Thanks again for all the wonderful hermeto albums!

It seems that faixo 11: suddenly from the album 'Hermeto' is missing.

Could you also please upload the following:

Quarteto Novo (with Airto)

The unreleased version of Munde Verde Esperanca (1989)

Hermeto w/ Renato Borghetti on accordeon

Thanks a lot! I'm enjoying the albums a lot, especially 'eu e eles' is really great!

Hi! I am glad to learn there are young people interested in Hermeto's work.

Except for the BBC broadcast and the Berlin Symphony I didn't upload any of those albums. I got the links elsewhere.

You can find everything you need (and lots more, like hours and hours of live gigs' audio and many videos) on Soul Seek, though. Feel no guilt of downloading Hermeto's music as he has expressed several times, that as long it is only for enjoying and not selling, it is OK to copy and spread his music all around!

Yeah, it is a funny (sad) thing that during a beautiful ballad in the Hermeto album, somebody seems to switch to the radio during the recording and some French tune plays instead.

OH, BTW, I am going to watch him live next weekend 8) :exploding with happiness:

Where is he going to play? Is he going to play with aline morena or with his group? I have a hard time following him because there is no web-site that indicates where he is playing. He appeared in italy a week ago for example.

Do you know a good website to see his touring schedule?

Cheers and have fun

He is playing outdoors in Belo Horizonte, Brasil in the 26th in nice square/park. He is playing with the full O Grupo line-up plus Aline.

I recommend you all to stay away from his duo with Aline. She is not par with his stature and people say that she only wants to promote herself...

They (Aline, Hermeto, plus independendt sources) said their are setting up a www.hermetopascoal.com.br website anytime now, where they've promised they will make EVERY Hermeto score available for free (nobody knows for sure somewhere near 3000-4000 songs).

A good place to get acquainted with the hermetologue community and be aware of his schedules is the Hermeto Group at Yahoo Groups (former e-groups).

Tudo de Bom Sempre...

3000-4000 songs?

Genius, I can only hope to be a fraction as prolific, not to mention as talented a musician/composer.

I, for one, only find perfectly understandable that small-minded and prejudicial people such as yourself can't get and enjoy Hermeto's music.

Now go take care of policing elsewhere in the forum and leave this one thread alone...

I hope you stick to your word this time and, yes, please don't come back. I was hoping the whole please "don't you ever talk to me in the future" scene was mutual...
