Bummer, I'll still visit the hell hole that is Auckland City, since I can't get a refund on flights and hotel bookings....or renegotiate my time off work.

So as we speak I own a couple of expensive little pieces of yellow paper that may prove to have no value other than as some kind of nostalgic souvenir of what could have been.

And all for less than $1,000!

Given the circumstances, maybe the rest of the stones could have got a ringer in to fill jaggers boots for the antipodean tour. Its not like there would be a lot of rehearsal needed.
Tex Perkins could have done it easy.

People pay to see Mick & Keith. Not Keith and some look/sound a like playing Mick. Or at least cut the ticket price in half. You still get Charlie and Ron with Keith. :|

The faithful cospiracy theorist that I am, I started floating the "terorist have the plane" theory last week, the Daughter Plook the Elder said I was nuts...now that's a strong contender, if not the front runner... :smoke:

Of course, a boeing with 300 people (and as much mobile phones) on board landing somewhere unnoticed is the good and exciting story. Disappearing somewhere in the sea is the boring story. The story of the plane is obscure, but not that obscure. My personal theory: terrorists - yes, safely landing - no.

Agreed, it's wishful thinking otherwise. Although if the "terrorist" searched and took every phone, GPS, etcetera, ejected them (toilet?) before the last official communication, then maybe Plook's scenario comes into play. But they'd all have to be in on it for that scenario to play out, imho.

The plane is a transformer which became a submarine.

Plook, knowing you I'm surprised that you're not proposing that an ancient alien civilization commandeered the plane and now have it on their home planet analyzing the vehicle and its inhabitants.

Could be Japanese trawlers whaling where the Sea Shepard's aren't looking for them. :o

The whole word is watching! 8)

If the aliens are looking for some folks to probe those Japanese whalers would make perfect candidates, all in the name of science of course...

What good would be a terrorist action on a plane if no group accounts for it? I don't believe that story. We'll have to wait for the black box to surface to be sure.

With the info thats been dribbling out of Malaysia, it appears the pilot(s) switched off the various tracking devices and reprogrammed the auto pilot to purposely avoid the radar of the numerous countries airspace through which they were flying and continued on into the middle of the Indian Ocean until the plane ran out of fuel. If they locate the black box, the pilot(s) may have disabled it, furthering the mystery of flight MH370, and the fate of the 239 souls on board.....sadly there can be no happy ending to this story.

Usually this kind of action aint no good at all
compare thiis case to the case of the Lockerbie bombing in 1988. No terrorist group confessed to be involved in that attack cause it was executed by the secret service of Lybia, ordered by Gadaffi himself.
I can imagine that in the actual case something similar happened as with the 4th plane on sep 11th.

I dont believe this is the case and nor do many of the victims.
All 'intelligence' links it directly with the iranian passenger jet shot down by the USA prior to this. Not terrorism - retaliation.
Now if it turns out that the plane is actually in the sea a mile from where contact was lost, hi-jacking seems even more unlikely.

Just wanted to say that i am suspecting a case of violence ( terrorism, retaliation, angry visitors from outer space or whatever you want) that goes beyond a simple plane crash for pure technical reasons. Lockerbie was just an example of such kind of violence that doesn' t need necessaryli anybody to confess it to make sense.

Really? Makes no sense to me, where did you read of this? There are more plausible theories out there.

FWIW, this was (amongst other sources I couldn't quote right now) written about ad nauseam in private eye for a number of years.
I'd be interested in hearing about other plausible theories - but not the libyan theory, which is a shameful affair.

as I can't make heads or tails of your posts (malaysia or lockerbie, what ya talkin' about), I am moving on. No need to answer. Yes, I have a search engine like the rest of the world.
