Hi everyone- I'm Flight From Ashiya-thankyou for having me on this wonderful website to 'Frank Zappa'.
I first heard 'FZ' in 1970 when at the age of 6 years old -I listened to my brother-in-law's copy of 'The Mothers Of Invention's Weasels Ripped My Flesh'.I've been listening ever since.I still remember the day he died in 1993 & thought-now I wish I had seen him at the Hammersmith Odeon,London in the late 1980s when I had a chance to.
I live in London ,U.K.
I'm looking forward to chatting with fellow Zappa-Fanatics throughout the world!.
Thanks again for such a professional & user friendly website.

I didn't mean to sound crabby about that. When I saw your name, I thought you were a spammer. My mistake. Feel free to come and go as you please.

Efforts to reduce spammers is a good thing... But what do you guys do about spammers who abuse the private message system?
I received an email notifying me of a private message; the message:

Find the Best Credit Card Offers-Low APR, 0% on Balance Transfers
Compare Credit Cards-Master Card, Visa, American Express, Discover.
Plus Learn how to Use your cash advance wisely-
Get out of Credit Card Debt-
Everything About Creditors-
Lowering Your Interest Rate-

etc.
My effort to denounce this trecherous cretin was foiled by your spam guard.
Go figure.

The member abusing the forums? I think it's his name that gets me blocked everytime, so I'll spell it out for ya:
S....H....O....H....O....B....A....N....V....A....R....S....D

The spammer has to attempt something before getting blocked. Maybe you're having difficulties because the spammer had already been dealt with in the time between their sending of your PM and your attempt to do something about it.

I'm just guessing, only the admin can confirm this.

Hey SOFA, I just noticed, you're a very occasional poster. That message above and only one other back in 2003.

To call me occasional is too kind - as, correctly, you pointed out I have made 2 posts since the forums opened. I choose to hang out at a couple of different FZ forums... That's why I went in right away when I received the notice of a private message here, thinking "who could be messaging me at a forum I do not frequent? This must be important!"
Imagine my delight at the notice from the Plastic People...
I'm guessing that he/she has html inbedded in their member name, which the spam guard caught - since I am not "a regular member" and can't post html and did not have any in my repsonse.
I'm not trying to interrupt the forums, or even be an active participant. I was merely trying to let someone here know that there's a scumbag trolling the FZ forums who is spamming individual members thru the private message system. I can't believe I'm the only one this puke has contacted...
Regards,
SOFA

Thankfully I haven't had any spam PMs, I can see how that would be disturbing. Have you tried sending a PM to Mikey? He' generally pretty good about acting upon this sort of thing.
