Greetings Zappaphiles of the world!

I became an immediate fan in 1972. My friend Andy cannot remember how he got "Live at the Fillmore 1971", but he is the one who played it for the rest of us. Since we were singers ourselves, and had a little folk band, we were immediately hooked by the gorgeous harmonies, innovative music, fantastic musicianship, and the mash-up of styles, with the most outrageous lyrics ever. I mean, how does an aria like Bwana Dik ("I've got the thing you need...") end up on a rock album? No group has the guts to do that today.

To this day, I can chant "The Mating Call of the Adult Male Mudshark" when needed, or just because I can.

I was lucky enough to see the Maestro 5 times in concert. He so rarely came to Boston, but I managed. Saw TBBYNHIYL tour stop in Providence RI in 1988, and it was unforgettable.

I'm a tour operator who specializes in taking people to great live music, and we are running a trip to this summer's Zappanale, including a stop in Berlin for the naming of Frank-Zappa-strasse. But more of that in another post in 7 days when I become "legal" to post URLs according to the rules of the forum. In the meantime, feel free to e-mail me for more info.

Strictly commercially yours,

Father O'.
