I had a look Grim and I wasn't able to find anything, I checked all the torrent sites I know, doesn't mean it's not out there though, just requires a lot of digging to find.

Are you asking about his first cd? If so try E mailing him, I did and he sold me a copy for 20 bucks, and also called me to talk about it!

depends on who he is playign with.

I'm pretty sure teh ed palermo big band is exclusive zappa, right?

My sister just got a job and is moving to new york. I'm definitly coordinating a visit with a show at the bottom loung to check him out.

If so, I will post here to see if anyone else will be available.

His interpreatations of zappa's music are really unique and breathe life into songs we may think we've already heard. (yes they have plenty of life already but by playing it diffrently it avoids the "zappa did it better in '81" stuff, and really lets you enjoy it without comparison.)

and please trendmonger don't come here and shit on this topic, WE ALL KNOW HOW YOU FEEL AND CAN REDIRECT OURSELVES TO YOUR COMMENTS THANK-YOU.

Feral: I'm pretty sure Palermo does other things (and has an impressive resume) but the Iridium show is all Zappa, methinks. I saw him play once before and they did a Beatles thing a la Frank.
Grimpo: The Bottom Line is no longer in existence and Ed's shows are few and far between.

Ed Palermo's band is playing this Sunday at the Iridium...2 shows at 8:00 & 10pm...they are also playing Wednesday, August 22 at the Echo Lake Park Summer Arts Festival in Mountainside, NJ (free concert).

Ed Palermo is, currently on the Cuneiform label and released an all Zappa music album, "Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance", on that label about a year ago.

Caught Ed Palermo's first set at Iridium last night. His arrangements are absolutely fantastic and the band all accomplished NY jazz players.
I hope the ZFT eventually embraces him. A double-bill w/ZpZ would be amazing. New guitar player was the vocal man. Did just fine tho' Remus was a bit off.
Set List from memory:
RDNZL
Gumbo
Clothes Off (hit single potential!)
Uncle Remus (vocal)
Sofa
Grand Wazoo
Cleetus
Pygmy into a bit of Dummy Up (vocal)
Village...Sun (vocal)
Echidnas
Sleep Dirt (best zappa cover EVER? brought the house down)
and the delightfully shocking finale:
the closing benediction section of Strictly Genteel (vocal).
Never thought I'd hear that thing live...
