Hi All,
I am new to the whole forum thingy...so bear with any stupid questions.
I had the pleasure of seeing ZPZ in Sydney, Australia last night...WOW...blown away!!!
They were tight as the proverbial cats pucker.

I am trying to nail down the exact setlist for this concert...any help there would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. Great quote.

For the setlist try going to the "ZPZ Tour 2007: SETLISTS" thread in Zappa Concerts and going through the other setlists they've done this year to refresh your memory. That's how I did it. I went to the Melbourne show on the 29th.

Thnx to Nack Blapkin for the warm welcome.

I will go and look at that thread...I already have a list of about 16 songs that I think were in the list, but at 48 the memory is less than perfect.

Gotta say I loved the use of video at the concert. It already felt like Frank was in the room, the video just made that seem more real. The love for Frank and his music was tangible on and off the stage.

Hats off to Dweezil, what a tribute he paid his father....Frank has gotta be smilin down, proud as punch.

Hey, Zappaphilic, welcome.

What don't you like being called? It got chopped off in the title.

Dude,
I was tryin to be funny with " I don't like being called a member" as it has penile connotations.
Maybe I should keep my day job!!!

Hey, a question for you too...how do you get a profile picture uploaded?? :? My fields look so drab and boring in comparison.

Click on the "Profile" link at the top of the page then scroll down to the Avatar Control Panel at the bottom where it explains what is required.

Finally tried out the avatar thingy...hope it works...thanks polydigm

I must say the I haven't seen Chunga's Revenge mentioned much in the favourite lists or suggested to newbies as a good place to start.
I've been listening to Frank since the late 60's and I still find Chunga's a treat when I get it out and dust it off.

If comedy is your gig, though...Another Band from LA seems a great start too.

Just throwin some ideas out there...

Thanks for the cheers...the avatar thing was quite simple too, as long as you save your pic at no bigger than 80 x 80 pixels all is well.

The Sydney concert was an absolute buzz, but I thought the mix on the Monday night was a bit mushy at times. Not enough distinction between instruments. But that was minor, seeing I was too young to get to Franks last Sydney concert (1970-something) this was the next best thing.
:)

welcome to the forum! incidentally, the quote about the parachute has been said countless times over the years in one form or another, before and after zappa's time and as far as i am aware has not been attributed to any one person.

Thanks for that, I used the quote as I found it on a website attributed to Frank. I am sure it has been said by many others, possibly prior to, and definitely after Frank,...but aren't we here to celebrate Frank, and what he said, regardless of whether he was the first. I am pretty sure others have asked "is that a Sears Ponho?" before Frank but...???!!!

Thanks for the welcome to the forum from so many, it engenders a nice feeling of belonging.
