Hello to all,

I am a little new to Zappa. What is the BEST album that I can get to start my collection? Lather??

I'm new to the forum to, but not new to Zappa by any means...

I'd say there is no way you can go wrong with Lather.

four albums of diverse material,

Other good primers IMO are Apostrophe, One Size Fit's All, and Roxy & Eslewhere.

I think my favorite single studio LP is You Are What You Is. IMO this album was when he really got all his musical ducks in a row.

I think my all time favorite live album is The Best Band You've Never Heard in Your Life.

But if you were to only get one, or are just starting out Lather is a first rate choice.

go apostrophe/overnite sensation......or,one size fits all....joes garage is not a bad choice......lather covers a lot of the ground.....
