Has anyone experienced being logged out unexpectedly? I don't mean what happens when you've been idle for a while, I know that this forum logs you out if you haven't done anything active for about an hour or two. What has happened to me on several occasions now is that out of the blue a certain forum page won't load and it seems like the forum server is not responding and then suddenly it comes back and I've been logged out.

This is a pain due mainly to viewing posts that have been made since you were last logged on. If you've only just logged on and you're checking the list and then you get suddenly logged out, your last log on time gets updated and you lose the list.

What the forum needs is an option to list anything without a search string going back through a selectable time interval, then it wouldn't depend on your own log in times and getting logged out accidentally wouldn't matter much.

Very funny guys, but do you get why I did that?

Anyway, a log in dropout happened to me again earlier today.

What rolls downstairs, alone and in pairs and frightens the neighbor's dog?

Earlier on I was wishing the neighbour's dog would shut the fuck up and it seems it finally has. It's a nice dog but it can be a pain in the arse.

To answer your question more seriously, I haven't had any problems myself with login dropouts. It's just the word "log" has so many joke opportunities, we clowns couldn't resist.

I'm still waiting for the answer to this.

Ah, I'll hop in here to help. It's a Ren and Stimpy reference (a really off-color cartoon featuring a dog and cat). They had a commercial for "Log", a new childrens' toy, and the song went like this:

I guess my Star Trek parody "Log. Log. And LOG!! WHAT IS LOG???" was a little too subtle an answer, eh?

Thank you Feets, you are very astute. But, did you know that it is a complete rip off of the Slinky commericial?

Thank you Doug, that was indeed very subtle. It tested my ability to remember Star Trek episodes (I failed) Except it was probably some emotionless alien resisting Capt. Kirk's advances.

I'm not surprised you would want to forget it, Sabbs. It's from "Spock's Brain"....a planet full of empty headed women, who steal Spock's brain and stick it in a computer to make decisions for them.

I see said the blind man. I saw that Star Trek episode not that long ago but I don't recall the "log" reference. Anyway, the log ad makes Sab's reference clear.

As far as this log in thing is concerned, I think in my case it's a bug in the latest version of Safari. Command R is the key equivalent for updating the current page and I think that is sometimes causing me to be logged out, I haven't narrowed it down exactly yet.
