I don't know what the ZFT thinks about this, but I think that it would be a great idea if all of the ZPZ shows were posted on-line and available for download. Phish does this (check out livephish) as does Government Mule (muletracks). They charge about $10/show. I can guarantee that I would download everything that they put up there, as would thousands of others out there. Maybe if there are enough interested people out there, this could be done for this tour. Just a thought.

I think they would think it is a very bad idea.

From the look of the progression a DVD and CD of every tour looks like the best representation for now. I am happy with that but I understand the desire to have audio of a show one attended.

I don't think thie is a need to flood the market with 80 shows per tour at this juncture. What would be interesting is to have let's say 750 seats per show that would include a live Audio Key for future download. I just don't see the market feasibility at this point but as ZPZ gains momentum some of these new marketing options may have some feasibility.

That's not the point. Your beard always has that odor of negativity.
Collectors who want all these shows for free trade is a specific devaluation of the market. Your in-the-ballpark Meisterment of MP3s of PO shows do get traded around so even with that in-the-ballpark stuff some fans want to hear as many shows as possible, especially when it is free

What I am talking about is marketing strategies of quality merchandise. Some of these bands that sell every show from a tour have very large hard core fan bases. Marketing at this point should be produced format media of the finest audio & visual entertainment not just some quick live capture for download but I had long ago pondered some ticketing scheme that would include the future procurement of a live audio recording of the show. The technology exists to record and release very good quality audio of a live show but as I said the produced projects at this point are far more representative of Franks methods.

You really need to re-evaluate your comprehention of ZPZ shows.

Set lists change night to night. Solos and conducting add significant changes to each show, new songs are added as the tour evolves. For example I have the Guitar Center Fresh Cuts Vol 1 CD that includes a live version of Magic Carolina from late last tour. I saw 4 shows last year between the summer and fall and Magic Fingers had yet to be performed where the last show I saw was in November in Kingston NY. Glad to have it on CD for it blows the 200 Motels recording away. Unfortunately I never saw Magic Fingers in the 4 shows i saw. Hope DZ whips out Magic Fingers at Westbury this year. Let's not forget Ray White sang a new song each show.

They could even start offering an opportunity for fans to record the shows via tapers section. It's not like any of the music will be debut performances of unreleased compositions like it was in Frank's touring days. I also think the Instant Live or MunckMusic route would be a nice idea. They could easily sell hundreds of units at the point of purchase at each show for $25.00 a pop.

Pop the shows live on HBO , just like that wrastlin' crap , but better.
I'd plunk down a few nickles to watch live ZPZ in the privacy of my own home. 8)
