Hellooo everybody!
It has been an eventful last couple of weeks.....
I won't bore ya with the details, but to top things off,
my computer died suddenly last weekend.
It was going to be a costly repair,so I just had my
local independent computer shop build me a new machine.
I just got it today, and what a fine machine it is!
So,I just wanted to say hello to everyone, and let ya'll know Im back!

Oh! I just assumed you were busy bailing out your basement, like the rest of the U.S. (not counting the people who are chasing their basements across the mid-west, or toasting their basements on the Specific Coast).

You bet I knew Doug Earp!
I really miss talking to him at his shop.
When he passed away,it was a huge loss to the Flint area.
Al Steele still has the shop up & running.

Doug and I grew up together. We were in the same kindergarden class and all the way through high school (Swartz Creek) and on to Mott CC. When I left Flint to go to school in Lansing, we stayed in touch but finally drifted apart over the years. I didn't hear about his passing until after the funeral. I really regret not attending that. I'm glad that Al is still running the shop. That place was always a beacon of light in the darkness of that wretched sealed tuna sandwich of a town. Doug and I saw 200 Motels together, and Frank himself, when he played the IMA in 1974. He gave me the cassette of YCDTOSA II when it first came out. How either one of us lasted as long as we did will always be a mystery to me. Oh, the stories that I could tell......

What a great guy he was......I'll never foreget when I opened up the newspaper, and saw his picture in the obituary section. Man,that was a shocker. He found out he had cancer right after he got married. He didn't last long,it happened really fast. What a bummer......

It's cool that you grew up with Doug. I just knew him from shopping at his store for years. He would sit behind the counter and bullshit for as long as you wanted! Man,I miss that. He was the coolest.......
