This is one of things I like about Macs. If you're running OS X, iTunes is standard and whatever Mac I'm working on iTunes will play Zappa Radio. And once you've played it you don't have to go back to the web site, just open iTunes and hit the play button.

It does that on PC's too.

I dig that but I often hear of people having problems with it on PCs.

Anyway, I just tuned into Zappa Radio and regardless of the fact that often I can't decide which FZ to listen to I can't turn it off.

i've had no probs with zappa radio on mac.

I've had fun with it.
Having owned Freak Out for about 20 years, I finally 'got it'.
Since then I have been on a 4 year self-inflicted crash course.
So I've gone from 2 albums (I also picked up 'Weasels..' at some point) to 33 on lovely vinyl.
I've taken on a lot of material very quickly.
I am pleased that when I listen to zappa radio, I recognise most things I hear.
I like to listen until I come across a track I don't know well then I dig out the album it's on for a spin.
I am learning alot and I'm on here to learn more.

If you're listening to Zappa Radio at the right time, you can hear a thirty-one and one-half-minute sound block from the upcoming release for free!. I've already heard it several times.

It includes alternate versions, outtakes, interview bits, and the Lonely Little Girl single (Verve VK 10570, 1967).

** Next Show ** OMORP! - Coming Soon!

Frank Zappa - OMORP [31:30] - Lumpy Money- OMORP.

ALERT!!!!!
Zappa Radio is now playing the 31-1/2-minute sound block from Lumpy Money.

I wrote the above-quoted posts about an hour ago under the Lumpy Money thread. Zappa Radio has just now completed a twin-spin of the 31-minute 30-second program.

Since we got our new TV, I can connect the computer to it. Zappa Radio through my home stereo system sounds good.

Does the tracklist on Zappa Radio tend to be repeated every night or is there new material (minus the Lumpy Money taster) played from time to time?

I'm enjoying what I hear either way (still need to buy some albums when I have extra money) :)

Needs refreshed, as there are a few things from recent releases on the list now, like Joe's Menage.
(:

Awesome! I didn't even know there was Zappa Radio. I've just been listening to a Zappa channel on Pandora.

Apparently, Bonnaroo 365 (which seems a lot like Bonnaroo Radio to me) is going to broadcast concerts on a few FM radio stations in select major cities. I think it would be cool if Zappa Radio would do some sort of simulcast with a few FM radio stations. For example, they could air one of the "Beat the Boots" concerts in it's entirety once a week or once a month online and on the air. I think that would help build awareness and (at the very least) get Zappa back on the radio.

Bonnaroo wrote:
We are excited to introduce Bonnaroo Live 365, a program by which fans can relive the Bonnaroo experience year round! Select performances will be streamed periodically at no charge on Bonnaroo.com. All performance footage will be taken directly from the festival's exclusive master tapes while the audio will be remixed from Bonnaroo's pristine soundboard recordings.

The first installment of the program begins on January 11, 2009 with The Raconteurs, whose Friday afternoon set was a highlight of the 2008 event. Hot on the heels of their Grammy nominated album 'Consolers of the Lonely' (best rock album and best engineered) The Raconteurs delivered a classic Bonnaroo performance. Four of the songs from the set will be available for the first time as free audio downloads - one will be available to everyone, while the other three can be downloaded by Bonnaroo Community members only (membership sign-up is free!). The songs to be available for download are "Consoler of the Lonely," "Old Enough," "Blue Veins" and "Top Yourself." If that's not enough, the full set will be available in streaming video at Bonnaroo.com, and radio stations across the country will broadcast the entire set on Sunday, January 11th. CLICK HERE to see a full list of stations. The full setlist from the show is listed to your right.

Beginning on January 7th, we will stream one song from the performance until the 11th when the complete set will be available.

Hear the first song from the set, 'Consoler of the Lonely' now exclusively at Bonnaroo.com. Look for more incredible Bonnaroo performances coming soon!
