Hello. I am wondering what gear of Frank's,Dweezels is using for these Z Plays Z shows? Anything original of Mr. Zappa SR's? Also does anyone have the set list for the show. We are hittin it Sat the 17th in Chi town. I was too young to sse Frank back in the day...:>(...... hope this show will suppress those feelings of a need to see a guitar come out on a pillow.

From what I saw.
He is using a 1962 Gibson SG(Les Paul) Re-issue or custom built for him.
2 different Cornford amps and another amp I could not recognize, but I am sure it was a boutique amp head. two racks, one with a mess of pedals and the other rack gear and what seemed like a bradshaw switching unit on the floor. I saw no Frank gear at all, and if I remember correctly I think he said he didn't want to take Franks guitars on the road because they were too precious to risk losing or breaking. Which I completely understand. I wish he would add a gear section to the ZPZ website so us tech heads(nerds) can salivate at what he is using.

On Dweezel's other amp, it said "Blankenship", looked to be a plexi clone. Sound was top notch at the Las Vegas HOB.
Vai was rocking his Legacy stack, and the bass player had Ashdown, and the other guitar player was running Bogner amps.

Yea that is cool. I expected him to be using his Wiggy amp but I guess not.
I'd love to have a Legacy amp!

This is Dweezils setup for the Zappa plays Zappa shows stright from the Dweez. I got from guitar player mag which has Dweezil and Vai on the cover.

For the Zappa On Zappa tour, I’m playing an antiquated Gibson SG Standard with a Maestro vibrato,â€￾ says Dweezil Zappa. “Frank played my favorite stuff on an SG, and when I play one, it really helps set the mood. It’s a definite motivator for conceptual continuity, because, lets face it, it wouldn’t be the same if I walked onstage with a silver-sparkle Iceman. In the past, all I could play were Stratocaster-type guitars, but I kept woodshedding with the SG, and now I can’t play any of my old guitars. I love the SG’s easy access to the higher frets.
“Onstage, I’m running two Cornford heads—an MK50H II and an RK100—as well as a Blankenship 18-watt head. I use two Cornford 4x12 cabs, with one handling the signal from the RK100, and the other handling the MK50H II and the Blankenship, and I switch between those two amps.
“For effects, I’m using a combination of stompboxes and rack gear. For pedals, I’m running a Keeley Java Boost, a Tech 21 XXL, a Boss FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz, a DOD FX25B Envelope Follower, an old Octavia, a T.C. Electronic Chorus/Pitch Modulation/Flanger, and an old Korg Flanger. My rack gear consists of a T.C. Electronics 2290, which I use for short delays, and an Eventide Orville which handles all of my reverbs. Everything is routed with a Switchblade GL MIDI system, and I switch it all with a Bradshaw pedalboard that also sports a Dunlop CryBaby.â€￾ —DF
