I have to wonder if he is a Zappa fan. He likes Slayer, Sabbath, Zeppelin, Hendrix, etc. Who knows?

Plus a great appearance on Henry Rollins's tribute CD "Rise Above", where he does a definitive take on "Police Story". He's a versatile guy. He can even act!

A couple... I can play Absolutely Free, Oh No, Mom & Dad and How Could I Be Such A Fool. And I'm training on others.

(PS I'd love to hear Tim Curry with ZPZ, singing Yo Cats.)

this post has mde me wonder why there hasnt been a zappa tribute album.i mean there are tributes to all kinds of shitty bands even bands that dont have too many albums out but no zappa tribute .why?i wonder if gail would allow it.

i would love to hear a good jazz band (only some local ones come to mind so i wont bother naming names)do some of the FZ fusion stuff.
mike patton.-any thing
melvins -muffin man
jello biafra could probably do a whole album of zappas more political stuff & make it great

There have been a number of Zappa tributes. The Persuasions did one, and there have been others as well.

Back on topic, if the cruel April Fools Joke from Dweezil really isn't a joke (and I am having a hard time believing it) I would say, again, keep it in the family and bring on Ahmet!!!!!! I know, I know, he is swamped with his kid movie screenwriting fame and fortune career and all, but perhaps a little time away from that cutting loose with the family biz band may be a good thing?

Then again, I guess he is FZ Alumni since he did perform Frogs With Dirty Lips with dad. Hmmm...

really what i mean is a various artists tribute album .i have heard the persuasions album & love the way the do most of the songs .but i would like to see an album of a bunch of newer experimental/prog metal/rock & alternative acts do their takes on some zappa songs .hell it would be cool to mix it up a bit & put a few members from a few bands together for some songs ,or even ex members playing with newer bands .

I'd be interested in a record like that too. If it would get Mr. Bungle back together for a song, it would certainly be worth it.
