Anyone know the biggest crowd he played to ? I know he headlined Knebworth here in 1978 and also played Bath Blues/Folk festival in 1970 but dunno what size crowds were there. As this wasn't a FZ only show, what has been his biggest gig where he was the only act? Any info?

Knebworth is an annual festival in England...
This was a quickly thrown together show (the 2nd Knebworth show if the year) and he did headline it. The other acts weren't exactly "pullers" (maybe Gabriel had a few fans there..) Anyhow, I was only sayin'.......

... and what was FZ's smallest crowd? I have a theory: Vogue Theatre, Indianapolis, 1984. What do you think?

I have a bootleg of this gig. After the opening number you can hear FZ saying he has not played in such a small venue since 1962. And you can hear how small the concert hall is by the sound. It sounds like a jazz club. But, well, maybe he has performed for smaller crowds.

The Garrick was smaller? Does this mean this concert hall is not operational anymore?

on the A&E Biogrophy of FZ, Ruth mentions there were shows at the Garrick with more people on stage than in the audience.

Back to the bigger picture - I saw FZ in '88 in Birmingham UK. I recently enquired the capacity of this venue and was told that it was approx 12,000. Didn't think it was that big to be honest but that's what they said. It looked pretty full to me that night too...
