In that same show there's an incredible Any Downers? that has nothing to do with the little song on YAWYI.
A list of unreleased gems would be soooo long... for example Holiday In Berlin with lyrics, the Sofa suite, SyBorg without lyrics, Ike singing Village of the Sun with the solo section at the end, extended Wild Love (the squirm etc.) and a million others...
not to mention anything from the Petit Wazoo.
Maybe your copy has problems... mine (as far as I can remember) is very good even during Any Downers.
For myself, I like that solo very much, it is so different from every other released FZ solo.
I like this Sleep Dirt a lot, but NOT Napkins... I have heard so many wonderful Black Napkins (maybe my favorite FZ tune ever if I have to pick one) that I can't keep from judging this one under par.
I only have 3 shows from this tour and this one is my favorite, I listen to it way more often than even OZ.
Go find yourelf the Berlin 2-15-78 show. It's out there an a lot of places. It has the Rat Tomago and Sheik Yer Bouti solos in it in their original form. It sounds to me as half way through Sheik he thought there was a mistake so he does it again. I don't know, but it's cool to hear it as it came to life.

Same with the Poughkeepsie 9-21-78. No albums solos but great show. The solo in Conehead, one of my all time favorites. Plus, a 5 minute long Moe's Vacation instrumental. Sarataga 9-1-84 has the most amazing solos in Slime and Baltimore. All three are available in many places.

Despite mr trendy's whining about it elsewhere in the forums, there are many shows that should be heard to appreciate the variations they did from the usual versions we hear on albums and cd's. To hear Imaginary Diseases, Rollo with words, funny ones too, the list is endless.
Cobo Hall 11-19-76 FZ yells at a t-shirt vendor for selling in the audience during the show. Stinkfoot changes to People in these parts know this particular little disease as "Commercialism"

3-19-79 Brest France, each member of the band is playing guitar, slide guitar, microphone etc. And on $500 belt buckle we have Thomas Nordegg. Even FZ laughs at it. Then song 2 is Dead Girls. He stops dead, yells at the audience for throwing a beer can on stage, says they will stop. Asks the building to "Now gimme some schmuck out here to tell them in french." then restats at nearly the exact spot a minute later. Amazing.

I have to agree bootleg material MAY water down the market, but that point only. I have a lot of them and I am so happy to have heard songs in early forms, variations, some so far out you might not even recognise them, and as FZ says on YCDTOSA II, the band knew the material so well and did it so tight for so long. Tommy Mars goes way out on solos, Vinnie solos, the many twists on the 88 tour, the jamming in the middle if If she only woulda, the rapport between Napi and George in the heart of the 73-74 run, the list is endless of "gems" that make his career so fulfilling.

Yes I agree with that choice. This show certainly highlights the talents of the 78 band. Rat Tomago (taken from 'The Torture') was the first guitar solo of the night - how about that for an opening noodle from FZ! It's good to hear the whole song in it's entirety. Also there's a really funny pre-amble to 'I've been in you' where he talks about the german boutique girl.

Also check out NY Ritz 1981, Manchester Apollo 1979.
Just heard the show from October 1, 1975 (Vancouver). FZ mentioned that a 4 year old girlfriend told him once T'Mershi Duween is the queen of the desert and he believed her. Nice episode imo. :)

Furthermore he mentioned that this song would be played in a yugoslavian style.

He played a funny version of T'Mershi then. Never heard it in that style before. Sounds like a track from an Emir Kusturica film.

No napkins at this eve.
I remember a while back someone posting a question about "FZ's Yugoslavian song." I think he ID'd it as T'Mershi? I tried a search, but maybe it was lost with the forum crash.

VCF
