I´m surprised that they even allowed Frank to record his show in their regime.

I was lucky enough to be an Usher at the Fox for this show. I even got to sit and watch them warm up before the show started.

edit:
After thinking about this a bit more, it may have been 1981... not sure now. It was for the Shut Up and Play your Guitar tour. Was this in 1980?
It had to be 1981, because I do recall them closing with Whipping Post.

Holiday in Berlin with lyrics:
#
# Look at all the Germans.
# La la la la la la
# Watch them follow orders.
# La la la la la la
# See them think they're doing
# something groovy in the street.
#
# See the student leader.
# La la la la la la
# He's a rebel prophet.
# La la la la la la
# He's fucked up, he's still a
# Nazi like his mom and dad.
#
# Played for a night in Berlin. That afternoon we
# set up our shit and rehearsed.
# Half a dozen phony student rebels in the hall,
# came to see if I could find a way to help them all.
#
# "What is your desire?"
# La la la la la la
# "Help us start a fire."
# La la la la la la
# In the Allied center,
# 'round the corner, down the street.
#
# And then, we began to play.
# A bunch of punks arose from the crowd.
# Student rebels, their flags upraised,
# began to chant "Ho Chi Minh"
# "Ho Ho Ho Chi Minh" Threw tomatoes!
#
# And the next thing knew, we were under seige.

I'm sure there're other folks out there, who're following orders as well. I've heard Americans like orders.

I just watched this movie:

...I wonder if it has any connection with this famous Zappa incident...

Yep, there's a connection indeed. The Baader Meinhof Gang came out of the German student movement from 1968.

I know what he said right before... if you got a copy of the show, I would love to find out what he said when he pointed and dropped a Frank style insult. Thanks!

I was also at this show, the first show of the night (there was another later show as well that night). It was my first and only FZ concert as he never came back to Seattle again after that. I have a tape of the second show (very poor quality, made from the audience with a small portable tape recorder with auto recording level, so every time the floor tom is hit the sound drops).

All the shit I wanted to hear Zappa play was never played by the time I was old enough to enjoy it. Born in 1976 and wanting to see any Zappa other than Yellow Shark live would have been a tremendous let down.
