I love Franks' music, I'm really into ZPZ & I enjoy talking about the music & the shows with other fans, but the level of sh*t posted on here keeps me away & I'm pretty sure I can safely say it keeps others away too. How does that help Frank's legacy, his family...how does it improve anything?
Am I a bleeding heart? Am I too sensitive? I don't think so. A career in the oil industry means I've seen, spoken & heard much worse than what you see posted here. But there's a time & a place, and this ain't it. Bullying of people who have different views - or a different posting style- is schoolyard stuff & has nothing to commend it.
This board isn't exactly super busy considering the amount of Zappa fans out there, and the internet warriors on here will eventually kill it completely.
We're all different, but with a little tolerance & maybe some judicous use of the ignore button, we should be able to discuss what we have in common.

And for whoever is supposed to be running this site - either you're not spending enough time here, or you actually condone what goes on here. I'd be very interested to know which is true.
What is it with all this socialistic and ultra-conservative crap about controlling what people can say and do, if someone crosses a line there have been laws around forever that can handle it. Otherwise let people say what they want, if you don't like it you can respond, if it is too much for you bail. There is an old adage, if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen, I would hope that FZ fans are a little more thick skinned than that. This ignore thing should be manually controlled, if you don't like it ...Stop reading and move on! Using an automatic ignore button is like admitting you have no self control over your life.
And why would this forum need to be limited to just FZ music, he was such a complete person with thoughts on so many subjects, I am sure he wouldn't want it limited or an ignore function used. Besides when someone goes as far as dd did the members themselves challenged him, and when he took it to the next level, he got booted.
Why make it more complex than it needs to be, in our victim mentality society it seems folks on the left and the right want protection from others thoughts and lifestyles and simply put that is segregation. It seems to be in vogue to try to segregate society...the slippery slope that was created when the first laws to segregate smokers, will come back to haunt society...they have turned smokers into societal leapers, then some areas made transfats illegal (hell that’s the only way to make a decent doughnut), and I hear them talking about soda now. They will come for you eventually so remember, “When they came for the Jews I said nothing, when they came for the gypsies I said nothing, when they came for me there was no one to protest”.
Once you give society or people the option to control or segregate society it is like a power and power will corrupt. All people need is to grow a backbone, use existing laws if needed and stop with all this voting to control people’s lives.
If we don’t protect each other’s freedoms, no one will have the right to protect anyone.
