Unfortunately I have never seen a photo with FZ using Sonic Solutions but DAW
was certainly where FZ was using and headed. I think these pictures set up a contrast of the work mode DZ is in.
True that the coffee and cigarettes are totally separate issues of each mans studio food
but the resemblance and work process of DZ & FZ is remarkable.

Seeing that Mikey made the Tour Blog only shows that form of announcement can be handled by
Mikey while DZ is doing his thing as the context of these pictures dictate in ponderment fashion.


Let's all ponder DZs work in progress.

FZ "Read It And Weep"

Frank Zappa left the ZFT in Control of his Vaults and Artistic rights.
We the fans are not in control. We have a choice to use our eyes and ears or read it and weep.

I must confess to being a bit lost in all this..

I think what Trendy is trying to say is that, basically, the raw materials for a quality 'Roxy' (ie original FZ-Roxy) release are a bit fucked, and if FZ coulda he woulda (put out a release) in the 20 years he had remaining after the original event. So maybe what might happen is that a ZPZ event might get filmed and then released, with the original footage as a sort-of montage.

I might be way off mark,( and apologies to Trendy if I am putting coherent words into his mouth), but if this is the case.... GREAT. Better that then no release ever.
I don't buy the argument that just 'cause a release was hinted at years ago that that constitutes a binding contract with us, the fans, to provide one.
Please everyone. Get over it.

If a ZPZ release at the same sort of quality as the original ZPZ dvd comes out any time soon I for one would be delighted.
But I would like to see whatever salvaged footage exists.

Well I'd have to go back and look at all my comments in this topic so it is hard to differentiate what you are specifically referring to but I don't think there is a need for that for you seem to be just a bit off coarse. No problem. As far as the FZ Roxy DVD. It's obvious FZ never released it and there could be a variety of reasons that I don't think FZ ever commented too much on the project publicly as to why it remained a work in progress for 30 years. Production costs could have a lot to so with it. What is clear regardless of how much commentary FZ gave is that it remained a work in progress. In an interview I did with Joe Travers in 2005 it was obvious Joe Travers gave us some insight as to the generalities of moving the project forward.

Now this topic is about many works in progress and based on a Charlie Boswell TWEET while The Son of Roxy DVD project may get completed it will be held back until the FZ ROXY DVD project drops. There are so many things to be positive about and I try my best to bring the optimistic view of Official things from an Ambassadors icing anointment utensil.
