It could seriously be the best night of zappa ever at the Ryman. BUT NO. SO FUCK YOU! I am not buying the any zpz dvd's or cd's as much as I would like too until they stop fucking nashville over tour after tour. Going to hippie-ass stinky bonnaroo does not complete your Tennessee requirements.

Jesus, if I boycotted bands who didn't play in my city, I would have a pretty small album collection.

It is kind of surprising that he hasn't played Nashville though, especially considering he came to Birmingham last summer.

No Scandinavia this time either. Bummer. (But the European leg is short this time.)

But seriously, Dweezil. Come to Chico, CA and play the Sierra Nevada Brewery Big Room. It would be perfect for a "You Can't Fit That On Stage Anymore" type show. It's a great room with state of the art facilities. Many bands have recorded live cd's and dvd's there. The beer's not too bad either.

Or if you want a larger venue there is the Laxson Auditorium on the Chico State campus or the El Rey and Senator theaters. There is also the Paradise Performing Arts Center up the road. Some pretty big names have played in all of these places. I'm just sayin'.

Yeah but I don't recall Birmingham being MUSIC CITY USA. And with all the alumni here its just ridiculous.

FZ only played Memphis & Nashville a few times because Tennessee isn't a big Zappa market. But I'm sure ZPZ will eventually play there in the future...

somebody has to put up the money to bring them to your town. that's the only reason why he wouldn't play a town.

whenever a tour is being planned, it's put together as a package. the promoter agrees to pay for the package and the venue that has the right size and the right sound system, etc, and a contract is signed.

it seems nobody has done this.
