My newspaper round went well afterwards, with 2 and a half hours of sleep...
Anyway my review is here:

if nothing helps then a search for 'mee vaar gelegenheid' (got a trip from Hagen to Freiburg on my first ride to Gibraltar - will never do it again, all d'Esperantontos - then me did it properly all the way, though shortly before Gib took the way to Castillo de Castellar) might do the trick. Your message wasn't clear, so lots of guessing and fantasies. You'd like to see Dweeb in the Dam, ...here is he at the same time on myRadio. .... would want to see him rolling up a spliff meself, lol.

What's floating?"

"A co'mic discus from a fortnight ago?..."

"Here you are, with a tinge of green. Tapwater along with?"

"Ya claro, soap, towel, new hair-do. Who's gonna pay for all this?"

"You get it for taking over the café, I try to throw a boomerang up upon the stage." :P

"Ya, do that." :)

I am serious, people. If I don't get a ride I'll miss out on the 4th concert I really wanted to see this year.

How much to get you across both ways, bonny?

I am pretty sure we could raise some funds among fellow forumers...

Train return ticket costs 39 euros. That's manageable, but will I be able to get back on Friday by train? I need to do my newspaper round on Saturday.

Just checked it out, it's not going to be easy to get to and from Melkweg to Amsterdam CS, so it looks like public transport is out.

(What do you mean? Tem minutes by streetcar? Well, I'm not buying any tickets with the new chip system. Needs to be outlawed straight away, and it's the only ticket possible nowadays.)

(What, can't you walk? Yes, I can, but with my not-fully-recovered ankle, can I walk, attend a concert, and walk back, and do a newspaper route the next day? I'm not making that leap of faith.)

Hi there Bonny...

You've probably checked this already, but taking the train to and from Eindhoven-Amsterdam is no problem.

At least not according to the website of De Nederlandse Spoorwegen:
http://www.ns.nl/reisplanner-v2/index.shtml

There is a train leaving at 23:07, 23:23, 23:38, 00:23, 1:17 and after that every other hour.

And getting from De Melkweg back to Amsterdam CS should not be any problem on a friday night, since there is trams and a night bus (about 4 actually...), according to the website of De Melkweg: http://www.melkweg.nl/artikelpagina.jsp?infoid=1345&subinfoid=3738

Quote:

See you on friday

OK, then read my post next time. I am not,no way, not ever going to buy OV Chipkaart, and that's the only way of getting a ticket for bus, subway or streetcar in Amsterdam. Strippenkaarten have been banned there since June.

Maare dan moet men zo veel vraagen. Wat zegd hij wanneer het volgend concertje weer is? ..niet het donderklap op zondag. Ow, voebbele in t8tech. Doei dan, de pleziertjes

N.B.: wattisser met het open-air in Belgie:? tent, slaapzak, regen daarbij....

Fuck it, don't be so stuck-up and just get a anonymous OV Chipkaart (they do exist) and that way the government don't have a single clue about you're whereabouts (if that is your problem...) !

Don't let a stupid thing such as a piece of plastic stand in your way of one of your favorite concerts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See you on friday and Congratulations Holland...we are in the finals

I want those things banned. The only thing they are good for is they open up the trashcans here. The cost of public transport has risen, and by much, for many people. Not to mention how thoughtless it is for visually handicapped people. And there's the privacy issue. And the checking out which is too easy to forget. And the card's been hacked, several times, in a very short timespace. There's been a bunch of no-brainers on the loose who wanted to push that nightmare through: probably they were in university with whoever produces those cards, or perhaps they have shares in the company.

Just checked it out: with a bicycle ticket it's possibly cheaper to get to De Melkweg than when I have to buy an anonymous card, set a lot of euros on it and then am unable to do anything with the remaining credit on there. Just like what you have with KODAK picture cards or PayPal. The jerks there still have 5 euros from me that I can't send anywhere because I don't have a credit card.

Edit: I looked it up. An anonymous card is going to cost E 7.50 anyway, less than SabreTooPhairy's suggestion of buying a bicycle ticket for the train.

Edit: I've settled on the bicycle solution and bought my ticket at last.

You know, just last Thursday I finished knitting a little toy pig. Initially I wanted to give it to my sister, but I decided to give it a white tie and collar, and call him Greggery Peccary. He's been subject of a photo shoot by yours truly, called "The Adventures Of Greggery Peccary".
I made a few pictures of my piglet at Melkweg, but that's where I lost sight of him. I gave it to Dweezil.

Who knows what exciting new adventures our little pig will experience!
