Gotta love what Dweezil is doing to keep the music alive.
I do too ... but I'm concerned that pretty soon it will be no different than you and I looking at Betty Boop, or Carmen Miranda ... and it not mean anything to anyone ... geee ... nice legs!
After all, in America, "arts" are not important and not a part of our heritage. It's all about the star and the fame ... and Hollywood and the music business, is still not pardoning the Zappa brand all too well ... I guess they didn't rip him off enough! ... not to mention that I think that the Trust is doing/releasing way too much of the rock/jazz stuff, and I am not sure that is going to help grant Frank a better status as a musician anywhere. But it's hard to explain this to people that lived in the Groupie era, and were so tied up in that sex, drugs and rock music culture all around them ... that even Miss Pam and others, still don't know what to make of Farnk's music ... only that they got their joy ride along the way with it!
Those people do not have a sense of history, the art, or the music!
Or as someone one time said in the LA area ... I'm waiting for him to die, so the stuff will be worth 10 to 20 times more ... (wasn't about Frank. It was about art!) ...
Well, to be fair, 6 months after I had a scathing attack on the bs someone published about the Portland Symphony for their lack of ability and desire to play and show more modern music and works (I had request some Frank Zappa, btw!!!!!!!!!!) ... they have scheduled a couple of days of Beatles music ... wow ... how original and I'll have to stop my pee and poop to go get that ticket!
