Thanks. Great musicians, but not for me.

Please don't judge them based on only one track, as it's not even close to their best work. Check these out:

Well, thanks for that, but no thanks. That first one was way worse than what Spacebrother posted. Not my cup of tea, sorry.

I was just watching the above interview with Dweezil and towards the end of it, he's asked what are ZPZ's plans for next year. Dweezil responds by saying a) that they'll be playing with some Alumni here and there (this, as we know already, is obviously Flo & Eddie) and b) how they're going to be touring with a group who's reforming and that are big in the jazz world. I would bet big $$$ this is Return To Forever because they're touring again next year...but this time, they're billed as RTF4 (Corea, Clarke, White, Gambale & Ponty).

I also checked Frank Gambale's site a few days ago and here's a rough schedule without any specific dates announced:

RTF4:

February 6-18 ~ Australia
June 13-30 ~ US and Canada
July ~ Europe
August through mid-September ~ US
September 22 through mid-October ~ Japan & South East Asia

If ZPZ does tour with RTF4 next year, they'll probably only be playing North American dates with them and they'll be opening for them too.

Thoughts?

If all this turns out to be true, along with the Flo & Eddie stuff, the RTF stuff (w/ Ponty) as well as the talk of OS and/or OSFA "done in it's entirety thing", well then it all sounds too good to be true. If it pans out, then it looks like I'll see the country after all. This is fantastic news.

Just purchased my RTFIV tickets for Toronto June 28th. Really expensive and no mention of ZPZ anywhere. I sure hope ZPZ is opening the show, as it will make the cost of the tickets a little easier to bear.

The question remains however: when in 2011 will Mark and Howard appear with DZPZ? It probably won't be in the summer:

Dweezil has put up a tentative schedule on his site. Sept. 21 at the Mondavi Center in Davis, CA. Kapt. Kirk will almost be able to walk to the show.

Here's the schedule:

http://dweezilzappaworld.com/events/111 ... dian-shows

Dates in blue are with Return to Forever. The green dates are probably with Flo & Eddie.
