I picked up a pretty cool one in Detroit, Zappa on the front and tour dates on the back, black tee shirt. On the front it says Zappa plays Zappa at the top and something like "there are no substitutes. I don't remember exactly how much the shirt was, I think around 30 bucks. Expensive, but a cool shirt nonetheless.

I bought a sweet Hooded sweatshirt at the Roxy, it was only $45.

The one I have has "Zappa Plays Zappa" on the front, and "Tourist De Frank" on the back.

If I would've had an extra $5 I would've picked up the "We don't Mess Around" shirt with (I think) the Black Page on the front.

If they don't play near here soon,I'm afraid my money will be spent on a Zappa T-shirt elsewhere. The one's they sell now wear out quick and some are thin as hell.I do have a few I dig from the Road Weariors dept.@ the Zappa.com store. The merch table needs to have larger sizes available and not just medium and small.

Unfortunately, the quality and selection of ZPZ shirts have consistently gone downhill since the first two years in 2006 & 2007. At that point, they had several to choose from. My favourite shirt was the one that included a black & white '75 FZ elevator pic on the front and on the back the "Accept No Substitutes" text at the top with the then current dates below (unica posted it above). This design variated with four different colour schemes (black w/ white text & brown w/ orange text for 2006 and crimson w/ yellow text and olive w/ yellow text for 2007). I own 3 of these 4 and liked this design VERY much. But after that, they changed designs. And while I continued to buy shirts, they just weren't as good. But last month when ZPZ played here for the 5th time, it was the first time I didn't buy any. They only had 2 or 3 for sale and while some of the designs were decent, they were $40 each!

You can get most of the "official" FZ & ZPZ shirts at amazon for around $20.
$30+ is way too much for a shirt at Barfko Swill or at the shows.

I have the Black Elevator shot T from the first tour the last show at the warfield in SF, they also had a Zomby Woof shirt I regret not buying, never saw it at another show after the first tour.

The last shirt I bought at a ZPZ show, the material was so thin you could see through it. I wore it once and put it in retirement. I would hate to see it after a dozen trips through the washer. Overpriced, just like tickets. :x

I think anybody who buys t-shirts of that lowest quality for those prices at merchandise tables can't be helped. Not just ZPZ, any concert.

Actually the shirt I purchased from the first ZPZ tour is pretty good and in excellent condition, although I have treated like a relic...

I boughta cool Freak Out! t-shirt from their first tour, at the Royal Albert Hall date. Unfortunately, US sizings are different to UK sizings and after I'd purchased it, it was clear it wasn't going to fit me comfortably! It says XL on the label, but is more like a small large or medium! As a result, it remained unworn...

In fact, it's for sale here along with the "Diva's Diary" (a "programme" of sorts, but not really) if anyone is interested -
