Quote:

The War Memorial Opera House, one of the most beautiful and technologically advanced performing arts centers in the world, is a true San Francisco jewel.

Designed in the magnificent French Renaissance style by Arthur Brown Jr., architect of Coit Tower and City Hall, the War Memorial Opera House is both a local and international landmark. After opening its doors to audiences for the first time on October 15, 1932, the exquisite and stunning War Memorial Opera House also served as the birthplace of the United Nations. In fact, it was on San Francisco's very own Opera House stage where President Truman signed the United Nations charter on June 26, 1945.

Today, after a seismic retrofitting following the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, the Opera House boasts state-of-the-art equipment, a refurbished interior graced with decadent beaux-arts trappings, 3,200 newly re-upholstered plush velvet seats, expanded access for people with disabilities, and numerous refreshment bars for the intermission crowds.

I can't find a proper picture of this venue. But I learnt that Cap d'Agde seems to be world's largest nudists camp.

I used to really enjoy this thread, but since Apple has upgraded Safari to version 3 it doesn't work as well. It just seems to time out on loading the pictures after a while and I just get the odd picture and loads of blue question marks. I've noticed that if I load all the pictures individually they get cached and then the page updates properly, but that's a bit of a pain. Firefox loads this thread alright but it has other problems. I wish Apple would spend more time on getting Safari to work properly.

I have Safari 3.1 and system 10.4.11 running and no problems of that kind.

I don't do this normally. But the boot from this show is great. An official release would be fantastic.

I'm using Safari 3.1 with system 10.4.11 on a 1GHz Powerbook and a hi speed ADSL modem. At my Mum's place, she has Safari 1.3.2 with system 10.3.9 and it just loaded this page pefectly, even though it took about 80 seconds. I can't figure out what's wrong with my setup.

I have the same set-up (10.4.11) and I use firefox. out of curiosity, though, I tried safari (3.1), and this thread loaded without any problems.
