Flakes! Flakes!
Flakes! Flakes!
They don't do no good
They never be workin'
When they oughta should
They waste your time
They're wastin' mine
California's got the most of them
Boy, they got a host of them

Swear t'God they got the most
At every business on the coast
Swear t'God they got the most
At every business on the coast
They got the Flakes

Flakes! Flakes!

They can't fix yer brakes
You ask 'em, "Where's my motor?"
"Well, it was eaten by snakes . . . "
You can stab 'n shoot 'n spit
But they won't be fixin' it
They're lyin' an' lazy
They can be drivin' you crazy

Swear t'God they got the most
At every business on the coast
Swear t'God they got the most
At every business on the coast
(Take it away, Bob . . . )

I asked as nice as I could
If my job would
Somehow be finished by Friday
Well, the whole damn weekend
Came 'n went, Frankie
(Wanna buy some mandies, Bob?)
You know what? They didn't do nothin'
But they charged me double for Sunday

Now, you know, no matter what you do,
They gonna cheat 'n rob you
'N then they'll give you a bill
'N it'll get your senses reelin'
And if you do not pay
They got computer collectors
That'll get you so crazy
'Til your head'll go through th' ceilin'
Yes it will!

I'm a moron 'n this is my wife
She's frosting a cake
With a paper knife
All what we got here's
American made
It's a little bit cheesey,
But it's nicely displayed
Well we don't get excited when it
Crumbles 'n breaks
We just get on the phone
And call up some Flakes
They rush on over
'N wreck it some more
'N we are so dumb
They're linin' up at our door
Well, my toilet went crazy
Yesterday afternoon
The plumber he says
"Never flush a tampoon!"
This great information
Cost me half a week's pay
And the toilet blew up
Later on the next day ay-eee-ay
Yeah ay-eee-ay
Yeah ay-eee-ay
Yeah ay-eee-ay
Blew up the next day
WOO-OOO

One Two Three Four!

Flakes! Flakes!
Flakes! Flakes!
Flakes! Flakes!

One Two Three Four!
FLAKES!

We are millions 'n millions
We're coming to get you
We're protected by unions
So don't let it upset you
Can't escape the conclusion
It's probably God's Will
That civilization
Will grind to a standstill
And we are the people
Who will make it all happen
While yer children is sleepin',
Yer puppy is crappin'
You might call us Flakes
Or something else you might coin us
We know you're so greedy
That you'll probably join us

We're coming to get you, we're coming to get you
We're coming to get you, we're coming to get you
We're coming to get you, we're coming to get you
We're coming to get you, we're coming to get you

While they're not complete stats for the entire tour, here's a round up of the stats for 20 of the 34 North American shows last year:

Gross: $1,446,426 USD
Attendance: 44,740
Average Ticket Price: $32.33 USD
Average Gross Per Show: $72,321 USD
Average Attendance Per Show: 2,237

Here’s what it would basically look like if we had the complete stats from all 34 North American shows last year:

Gross: $2.6 million USD
Attendance: 70,000
Average Ticket Price: $37.14 USD
Average Gross Per Show: $76,470 USD
Average Attendance Per Show: 2,058

And consequently, with the UK/European leg added, the overall gross for the entire 2006 Zappa Plays Zappa tour is basically between 5-5.5 million USD.

Promoters often under-report ticket sales because the artists usually get a percentage of sales on top of the guarentee. Or they pull comp tickets and trade them for services. Since they are not actually selling the comps for cash, its not technically illegal, but they are getting services that have value, so its pretty unethical

To my knowledge,"comp" (freebies, radio giveaways, etc.) tickets are included in the # of tickets sold. And when you give your ticket to the venue employees at the front door, the ticket is scanned (counted) before it's given back to you. The more "comp" tickets that are given out, the lower the average ticket price for the show comes out to...

Too bad they didn't go just one more night. I would have liked to know about the show I went to on June 23rd. It was at the Wiltern Theater in LA. I would really liked to have known the attendence and ticket prices for that show.

It was a great concert; the closest thing to a real FZ concert nowadays. Yet without the man, it fell a little short. Ya know what I mean?

I believe all three of the California shows on that run were completely sold out. The Wiltern was nice. I was up front on the floor and it was very comfortable. Then I went up to the Warfield and it was so packed it was miserable. I'll never go back to that place. They over sell it and have no control whatsoever.

Actually I think the tour grosses help fans understand what the ZPZ tour machine has achieved from a general business perspective. While there are so many other factors of the overall business that is not reported for fans that care, and some actually do, this data is quite useful. Why Help I'm a Rock feels the need to come here and piss on Disco Boys energy of reporting factual statistic seems to do nothing to promote the good nature of ZPZs mission.
