btw--feral, what's the story on Moses und Aron?

I lent it to a friend a little before you asked me for it, but I'm getting it back on Monday. Expect it by Tuesday

you talking about him playing it live on a tour or as a one-off thing? your idea seems really cool. i just couldn't suffer through 9 minutes of Sy Borg. it seems to me that the only reason that track exists is to push the storyline along. the keyboard solo is lame as hell, too, why didn't he put another xenochronous solo on there? i haven't looked at the chords, but it sounds to me like he coulda put an inca roads solo over it.

If Joe's Garage was performed as musical theatre-like, say, Hair or something,- all the long solo sections could be ballet scenes. Like-

Sy Borg- Sex dance (Imagination, gentleman..)
Keep It Greasy- Some terrifying 'rape' dance
He Used To Cut The Grass- Dance and scenery change showing how the world has changed without music..

With proper staging, a lot of what seems like 'filler' would become essential. I feel the same way about Thing-Fish, which would be AMAZING on stage.

I went to a musical theatre school for 3 years in Manhattan. Almost killed my love for the whole thing

^it sucks. the keyboard solo is alright, but the sound is what gets me. plus xenochrony is so cool i like it whenever he does it. why didn't he do xenochrony more often? it sounds so bitchen on the other songs, it'd probably make this one better.

Totally subjective, but I love the chords in Sy Borg - I think I prefer
the instrumental version that was sometimes done live...

Listen to the boot with Beefheart... Metal Man Has Hornet Wings...

Frank was so against bootlegs , it's kinda baffling he would air this on the radio ... and then there's always the " Uncle Frankie Show"

... got his teeth straightened at an early age.

Face it, fans, his teefs were fucked up and you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Frank coulda been Totes Humpable, if only he woulda practiced some basic oral hygiene and if his tightwad dad had invested in some practical orthodonty.

And that nose! Oh My God!

Lived to:

A) Address today's (political, social, musicalogical) sitch-a-ma-wation.

and...

2) Appear on "The Simpsons".

In fact, I'm on vacation so I'm gonna take a poll on both topics.

Don't put it off, guys. The new treatments they have today would have probably saved Frank's life.

Amen to that Walter. And while we are at it, get your colonoscopy too. Yeah, drinking the vile laxative the night before and crapping yourself clear is no fun, but your life is at stake.

And the colonoscopy itself is like Saturday night in Amsterdam -- you get some great drugs, and then a tube shoved up your ass. If you're lucky, you can stay conscious and watch the screen, hoping that you see Raquel Welch and that little submarine from "Fantastic Voyage".

My first colonoscopy clipped out a potential problem before it it became a major problem.

Best,

Father O'.

I love Matt Groening. One of the Futurama episodes makes me bawl, and I don't cry easy. (It's the one with Fry's dog..the episode is called "Jurassic Bark" if you're curious. It's beautiful.")
