Frank tried drugs in the 60"s obviously - you could never make a movie like 200 Motels without having tried acid - plus ray collins says so... :)

Because his fans did lots of them for him? I guess that's what makes him better than other artists. If one of those teenybopper boy groups said "Don't do drugs!" then their fans would take it to heart. Frank had an anti drug stance for a long time and his fans felt "well, that's all and good for you..."
