I also think, it is just some kind of metaphorical poetry, so it doesn't matter, if the big note is an extremely high or low one.

I agree that it probably doesn't matter, but Frank himself is describing a very low note. The main question in the thread is about The Big Note and in Frank's explanation it's a very low note, so low in fact that you can't see one end of a single cycle from the other. It wasn't clear in my post that Frank Zappa was saying that because when I first wrote that post I forgot to change the quote name from BBP to Frank Zappa. (The quote was in one of BBP's posts where she was quoting an FZ interview, sorry about the mix up).

Here's my word salad concerning the big note.

Dr. Michio Kaku is my favorite TV Physicist. In his discussing of string theory, he mentions at the molecular level, most of matter is EMPTY SPACE and it vibrating atoms that make up all matter.

Roughly.

What resonated with me is that Dr. Kaku was describing theory that fits perfectly with Zappa's concept of THE BIG NOTE.

Frank was smart, but this was incredible!
