I'm growing an FZ tash. The moustache is coming along but the goatee isn't.

I have in the past. But because of the patchiness of my facial hair the goatee part looked more like the one Vai sported at one time, instead of Frank's. I am currently using the Don Johnson "Miami Vice" three day stubble approach. If I'm totally clean shaven, this charcoal I wear all day breaks out my face.

Here's some honest questions:
(in most cases) how does the moustache hair know to grow in straight
and the beard hairs know that it is ok go kinky/curly?

What is going on inside of the face?

I shaved my goatee into a Zappa stache back when DZ did the first ZPZ tour in 2006. It only lasted a few months.

I have the full goatee and stash with a soul patch, for the last five years I grow it into a beard...sometimes i let the 3 day shade grow in and only shave my neck and around the soul patch...the women love that look... :smoke:

A few people have told me that my facial hair resembles FZ's...but only when I'm wearing an FZ t-shirt to compare. Realistically, I shape mine in the form of an anchor. Whereas, FZ's imperial was in the shape of a half anchor. And I started doing this several months before I got into FZ's music...

Had a soul patch since grade 11. Never grew a mustache at the time because it looked too crusty. Back in July I had a week's vacation and didn't shave. I've kept the full beard ever since. Before losing weight, I've tried the full beard before but ended up looking like a blobulent mess. My wife (and several co-workers) have complimented me on my 'new' look. I suppose it looks decent.
