if you're a fan of coincidence, conspiracy theories and the like, check out www.davesweb.cnchost.com , in particular his 6 part essay entitled "inside the L C the strange but mostly true story..." our man frank and many asscociates and freaks are featured. love it, hate it, it makes for some fascinating and entertaining reading.

MANSON FILE VOL. 5 (160 pp.)
$20.00 (Spahn Ranch raid and suspect and arrest list -
includes Frank Zappa, 66 mug shots and intriguing list of every homicide in Ramparts Division from '70-'77)

FZ is listed PROBABLY because a Manson associate by the name of Frank Longo used the FZ name as an alias.

I've read literally hundreds of FZ interviews and I don't recall him ever mentioning Charlie. Though, if it's true that his gang was associated with Vito and the rest, I could see why all of those folks would want to distance themselves from ol' Charlie!

I found this an interesting read although you gotta a take a lot of it with a grain of salt. He does bring up some curious threads and he sure paints an extremely dark picture of the Freaks as well as FZ. I can't say that I ever really cared much for side 4 of Freak Out and I think Vito and the rest are creeps of the highest order. I have to question why FZ would hang out with those folks but I certainly don't agree with the author's assessment that FZ was a closet occult follower/Mansonite. Though, it is interesting to note that FZ was born on the Winter Solstice!

Also, I don't agree with the author lumping Beefheart with Wild Man Fisher. BTW, while we're on the subject of WMF, to each his own, but the idea of a rerelease of his double LP on CD, as suggested by a recent posting, is a dreadful bore!

Incredible....
The Music by Bobby Beausoleil (one of the people who killed music teacher Gary Hindman with Susan Atkins) still image was pretty chilling.

I ran into some guy on imdb saying that Zappa was CIA based on what this said. I don't believe it, but it's worth a look at.

Part X is now completed. Not as good as Parts I-IX because it's more about Rustic Canyon and its early inhabitants but still a good read. Cool photos too.

Nice pictures. But is the guy serious or not? I can't tell. In part IX he writes about John Lennon:

"And as readers surely recall, he was gunned down on December 8, 1980 – purportedly by Mark David Chapman, but more likely by a second gunman."

And everytime a person dies, the cause of dead is labelled "allegedly" or something. Is he a true conspiracy theorist, or just humorous? Some of his writing style could indicate the latter, but I can't tell. Anybody know something?
