LOL indeed, Return to Forever, Zappa, The Band... It's only a wish list. The day Guitar Hero will incorporate moderately intelligent music people will stop buying it. I prefer guessing the chords on the keyboard and playing along. I don't play guitar, but I find air guitar cheaper than a Playstation when you don't play.

HAHAHAHA! Wes Montgomery! The screen should turn b/w, and kids would weep.

Yeah, definitely a wish list. Otherwise, the ZFT would have to come up with lawsuits for virtual bands performing Frank's music.

Many have hacked into the code on previous releases so that you can add your own music to the game. The behavior is not the same because you're obviously not using the multi-track master so when you make a mistake, the song continues playing "correctly" while making a sound effect for the mistake on the string or fret, etc. This may be what you have seen. I have a mod version that has other goofy additions like the theme to Super Mario Bros.

If they ever put Frank on Guitar Hero, I'll cry.

Well, one argument would be that it would turn a whole new generation on to FZ's music, no?

What sort of hit of Frank's would they put on it, though?

The game is focused on "The Big Hits" of Artists

"Smoke on the Water", "Iron Man", "Paranoid", "Rock You Like a Hurricane", the list goes on...

"Peaches En Regalia" Maybe?

*Edited to add the Peaches comment*

That's not GH, it's game called "Frets on Fire". It's a free game, Google it.

I'm that person who watches her friends play Guitar Hero while muttering in the background about how "Willie the Pimp" would be an awesome addition to the game.

And at the same time it would be kind of weird to see, like when they had a shitty cover of Holiday in Cambodia on GH3. That's my favorite punk song! It was somehow not right.

Zoot Allures or Black Napkins would be gr8, but I don't believe this will ever be possible.
If such a thing happens, I will light a candle in Notre Dame Cathedral (I am agnostic).

Buy a real fucking guitar, and learn how to play it.

GH is pure tripe for the masses.

First of all, I think that website is a fake. Here is the official GH site: http://www.guitarhero.com/us/.

Secondly, I think a game based on music is awesome, especially in a time when most games are centered around guns and killing. I know it's not always the best music, but there are some good songs on there by bands like Primus and Rage, even Buckethead made a song specifically for GH. I think it exposes kids to music they might not normally get to hear, and it may inspire a kid to eventually pick up a real guitar.

If they would put a Zappa song on GH, I think it would be something like Cosmik Debris, Joe's Garage or Don't Eat the Yellow Snow. Anything by Frank would be great, but there are a few songs that I'm pretty sure we'll never see on GH. Songs like Dinah-Moe Humm or Titties and Beer will probably not make it!

Even with the shitty music, games like Guitar Hero are just fun to play. It's nothing like playing an actual guitar, and I think anyone who has even seen a guitar can realize that. But they're fun, a good time-waster. Playing an actual guitar is more rewarding, but there's nothing wrong with a little bit of time-wasting now and again.

Absolutely. It's sad that some people may end up putting all of their time into a game like that and not investing it in an actual instrument. But there's nothing wrong with a little good ol' fashioned entertainment!

Actually, in my experience, playing Guitar Hero is similar to computer games meant to enhance typing skills.

Still fun.

I can see that. Ever play it for too long and then stare at your carpet or wallpaper right after? Everything gets all W-A-A-A-V-Y.... damn eyes are goin' on me, I swear!

Last summer, my best friend and I stayed up all night a few times playing GH. We would try to sleep and wouldn't be able to, because all we would see when we closed our eyes were those damn colors.

My son has GH and I've played it a few times. Fun stuff.

I actually run that Guitar Hero 4 fan site...

I'm a longtime FZ fan... so I put him at the top of my wishlist for Bands and for Boss Battles on the site (right column). It's just a dream, maybe someday... in either a GH or RB game. Who knows. Maybe as DLC.

I'm new to this forum, but used to post on the zappa newsgroup back in the day.

AND YES! Wes Montgomery should be a playable character and he would be all B&W, haha.. that would be hilarious.
