i was just thinking of varese earlier today. who besides me was lucky enough to attend the joel thome organized music of varese with host frank zappa at the palladium in nyc in 1981? one of the most stunning performances of any kind i've ever experienced. how great would it be if the zft was able to get that recording released? i'm pretty sure that fz brought bob stone to tune the room and do the house sound and that another legendary recording engineer (can't recall the name) recorded the concert for eventual release, but the tapes have never seen the light of day. ZFT has been delivering the goods lately. it would be great if they could get this one out.

I'm still waiting for "the rage and fury". Zappa realizing the music of Varese would be revalatory for me to hear. Hurry up!
