I'm very happy to report that my parents are very much alive, but yes, the above did happen to me 16 years ago & it was quite touching really.

Almost everything you hear and say somehow brings a Zappa lyric to mind whether it's relevant or not! :shock:

There's a set of elevators in the building where my office is that are highly automated and they speak to you with artificial voices and pronounce the word "floor", not as strongly but similarly to the way Ike Willis does when he's doing the Thing Fish thing. I guess it's not being able to help noticing things like that and knowing you can't share it with anyone who's travelling in the lift at the same time.

I always wanted my AOL to open up with Frank's voice saying "Hey...you've got mail!"

Hey = "Hey buddy...you need a hobby"
You've = "I don't know if you've the right style to get into hell, you know."
Got = "He just got in his car...."
Mail = "Special delivery ... registered mail"

See, you could put something together! I know, it wouldn't sound the same though.

These are good ideas, Mr. 2hitchikers.

OR, you know you are a true Zappa fan when you actually think..."I wonder if I could build a Frank-voiced series of sounds in my computer...heck I have all Saturday, its supposed to snow in NJ and the wife will have a slew of stupid jobs for me :mrgreen: that I won't do anyhow...."
