Best drummers ? Yeah, fine. But...
That makes me think of those opening drum intros that are still in my mind after all these years...

One of mine:
Carmine Appice, of Vanilla Fudge, and his intro in "Break Song" on the album "Near the beginnin". Really really good.
Though I know it's not new.

You have one you like ?

(bonus)This probably doesn't count for such a list because it is out of the pop & rock realm, however I'll also include Steve Reich's composition Drumming which begins simply and becomes poly-rhythmic within a minute or two on tuned bongos. Not for all tastes but I enjoy it and play it while driving too fast.

Oh, why, oh why, are we simple mortals ???

Let's all genuflect and ask his pardon, us that are not worthy, us that may make mistakes sometimes.
Why can't we all be a nation of JPFuck ?
(...maybe if Trump wins...)

But, can it be that JPFuck takes himself too seriously ?
But, can it be that JPFuck's attitude is representative of a spoiled child ?
But, can it be that JPFuck is the real Dumb Fuck ?

Do I have lessons to take from a racist with a one-sided mind ?

Another case of JPFuck making an asshole of himself.
Once again.

I want to help you, JPFuck. Take my advice an go see a shrink.
He'll give you a prescription for some pilss.
It will calm you.

Nevertheless, I listened to these suggestions.
Some are pretty long for an "intro".
I'd chose Fireball. Short, rocking, efficient to introduce the song.

NEVERTHELESS..........
All of us should give generously to the "JPFUCK NERVOUS BREAKDOWN SALVATION FUND".
We'd help a dignified forum member to heal himself from continuous violent rage.
Maybe scientists may find a cure for that persistent disease that affects our cherished JPFuck.

It is said that such a disease may bring the suffering one to mental problems.
Like taking himself too seriously (the "full of himself" symptoms).
Like seeing the World with one eye only, or through a set of blinders (like horses)
and having inctrolable urges to insult peoples all the time

The poor soul will lose any intelligent sense of debatting.
And end up being an incredible assholes for anyone near him.

SO ! LET'S ALL GIVE TO THE "JPFUCK NERVOUS BREAKDOWN SALVATION FUND".
Help your brother in pain !

AaaaH ! I know you wouldn't let me down !
I knew I'd hear from you soon.

Hey ! That's an idea.

I'm so sorry. So sorry !
I know how much you need that help.
In fact, many here thinks that any help would be good for you.
WE ALL LOVE YOU
We want you to heal and reach some inner peace.

We just want you to grow up a bit.

And now, his answer is....

I'll tell you right now, the best drum outro ever for a song is "Cow" by Melvins. Doesn't get any better.

I always liked starting with a single snare stroke on 3 or 4 (depending on how you count).

Where Eagles Dare by 'Maiden is a classic intro.
Also, Running Free. Still never recreated live the same - even by Burr himself. I could never quite work out how the fuck he played it.
