The Pivetta Opera One: 20,000 watts, stands 6 feet tall and weighs 2 tons. A steal at $650,000.00

Yeah, go for it. The amp looks like it's big enough to live in anyway. Maybe do some experimental recording ala the people in the Lumpy Gravy piano.

When I bought a NAD cd player 6 years before I thought I'll replace the 25 years old Yamaha machine by a NAD amp someday. The Yamaha amp is 31 years old now and it's still running almost every day.

By the way. I would never sell my house for an amp. Maybe I would sell my teenage kids.

If my house was worth $650,000, I would definitely sell it. That's a lot of money.
However I wouldn't buy this amazingly expensive amp, even if I was richer than Bill Gates.

In what real world situation would someone be willing to use one of those? A gig?

I have no notion of dimensions of this stuff or what it takes to power and amplify a big concert, I've been recently to a Rush concert in Rio, and I was impressed by the potency of the rig. Not pure loudness, but the 'body' of sound of synth bass, like on Subdivisions and pre-recorded synth vocals Geddy uses in songs like Stick it Out and abuses in the more recent records. Nice gig, by the way. Not everyday I have the luxury of attending this kind of gig. Wish Roger Waters the Wall would come here too...

You have maybe noticed the power filaments? one would probably need a nice little submarine with those nifty nuclear reactors, catch one then on the internet. ..and all lights on the planet go flicker.

Here, find yourself a stable place and hold on to your mind:

http://uk.store.creative.com/Products/P ... &pid=15853

..and hope that this thing is available on Earth. It has got 24bit, the best audio chip, a cooler and 5.0 EAX, whatever that is. Tell you then on the weekend, with a very fresh soundsabound on board. ....ow, a friendly, electric Nemo on the geez-scales. 8) ..aeh, cute.

I think I saw this as a Black Friday deal at Walmart for 1,500,000. But hell, who can deal with the crush of people?

I think he is still favoring his custom made Martin-Logan Statements with Krell Amps.
