Yeah, but the number of times Hotel California is played on the radio here has led me to never listen to music radio again - I don't know how often they play it on South Dakotan radio. I think this would happen for me to any song. If, for instance they played "Who are the brain police?" every day, I might tire of it too. They could play something else by The Eagles surely?
You are right, the radio stations pick a few songs by each artist and play them over and over until you never want to hear them again, when there are so many lesser-known songs by these same artists that people would love to hear once in a while.

Does the fact that classic rock channels play this song regularly make it any less of a song that fits the criteria put forth in this thread?... :smoke:

I think Hotel California is a great song. Easily their best (and a true rock classic). I know it's hip in some circles to hate the Eagles but it's really fucking good.

Rick Derringer - Rock and Roll Hootchie Koo

Better than the Johnny Winter version (that Rick also played on). If there was a thread for most under-rated rock artists I'd put Rick Derringer on it. He's a born-again pussy now who changes his lyrics in his songs to reflect his love of his lord and saviour, but he used to be great.

Montana. Driving beat, good bass lines, cool lyrics, blistering guitar solo, funkadelicious background vocals, horns and vibes. It's just a great song ... the whole package,

That is near word for word what Ruth Underwood says on ' classic album DVD.

Familiarity Breeds Contempt (which would be an excellent band name, actually)
