OK folks! For those of you who might care about such things, newly revised and updated versions of my books HUNGRY FREAKS DADDY: The Recordings of FRANK ZAPPA and the Mothers Of Invention Volume 1 1959-1969 and THE ZAPPA SUPPLEMENT: A Box Of HISTORY And The Mud Shark Saga are available for pre-order from SPB. Both have swah-vey new covers from Robert "hoops" Ross and both are heavily reworked (HFD gaining 40 pages in the process, and the Supplement about 80!). The Supplement is co-written by another wonderful Zappa historian, Phil Lee. I think you might like these!

The Supplement is now only available in B&W, while the new color edition of HFD is limited to 100 copies. Both are signed as usual.

get these, the first few volumes were quite good, a bit rough on the repro at times; now they're professionally printed and bound with high quality glossy covers

the zappa supplement is a good read, recommended, halfway thru the 1st chapter so far, it's a well-organized history of the mothers related to the legendary 12-record unreleased box set [or was it 9-records ¿ or was it 5 ¿ ] most of which eventually trickled out in one form or another over the years
