My two current favorites. They're the real deal. They have nothing to do with that watered down Warped tour/Hot Topic cookie-cutter brand of "punk". If you think there hasn't been any good punk bands since Black Flag broke up you need to hear both of these groups.

Pussies. My favorite punk bands thought of being a band, but they killed lots of people and are in jail forever and they fight the guards and the other convicts and spit on everything.

No, because that just leads to melancholy guitar classics. They say "fuck melancholy guitar classics." They're punk, but they're real idiots also.

IGGY was the FIRST, bitches.
He was "the man.' The blueprint for the mid seventies punks that would follow.

The VU were art fags.
Droney art fags.

The Ramones were surf pop for gutter kids.

Frank Zappa was the start of "outsider music."
If the true punks were the "outsiders" of their time than Zappa was their daddy.
Total anti establishment and anti hippie.
Frank gave voice to the disenfranchized of his time. The geeks, the loners, the
socially outcasts, the oddballs.....the freaks.

He shot his mouth off more than anyone. (except maybe Lenny Bruce)
He was the "fuck you" before the 70's punk kids were the "fuck you."
