So what exactly is a "caravan with a drum solo" anyhow? And why would a man in a bar want to hear one? I'm stumped, enlighten me.

"Caravan" is a famous jazz standard written by Duke Ellington.  It must have been in the repertoire of bar bands across the country in the sixties, I guess..  :)

Hey, if you really want to hear a cool version of "Caravan" with a drum solo, check out the version by Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers. :)

Chicago has a pretty cool version on their "Night and Day" CD.

Sha Na Na performed "Caravan with a drum solo" when I saw them at Carnegie Hall. The guest drummer was Keith Moon!  ;D
