Right after T.Rex I discovered The Sparks when I was a boy in the 70's. Probably they are responsible for my weird taste in music. So I gave myself three classic Sparks albums for christmas. Kimono My House, Propaganda, and Indiscreet. Anybody else like this band ?

can't say I ever was a fan, but, yeah, me and some of my friends listened to them way back when. we checked out the albums you mentioned.

we were into bowie, t.rex and roxy music (and zappa) and lots of other stuff, so the sparks seemed to be a band falling into that vein (we listened to pretty much everything...).

none of us became a fan of the sparks, though.

I've listend to them on spotify* more recently, but... sorry, it didn't make me as excited as I still get listening to bowie and roxy music.

(even t.rex is still a guilty pleasure). 8)

*I use spotify at work...

I haz 17 of their albums....14 on vinyl + 3 more on CD, plus 3 EP CDs with song mixes on them.
plus 2 more CD's (re-masters) I bought to "replace" the vinyl copies ("Kimono my House" and "Indiscreet").
Bought "Kimono My House" when it was first issued, and have kept up with them ever since.

Keep an eye out for a 1977 movie called "Rollercoaster", about a nutter who sabotages amusement rides. Sparks appear in the movie, playing at the park where the roller coaster tracks are sabotaged.

Here's a cute song from "Indiscreet" :)

Apart from the early ones, mentioned above, I quite like "Big Beat". If you don't mind their switch to the Techno Pop sound "No. 1 in Heaven" is really good. The other albums tend to appeal to me because of only 1 or 2 songs on each, and in those cases it's the lyrics, more than the music, that grabs me. Even when the music sounds just like any other dance club song, the lyrics still have alot more thought put into them. "That's not Nastassia" and "Madonna" spring to mind. "More Than a Sex Machine" kinda grows on you, after awhile. :)

from "Madonna"

Well, a limousine longer than
The Golden Gate Bridge
Pulled up along side me at the curb
All the glass was blacked out
so I knew there was somebody
Very important in there
Then the door opened up
And a blonde in the shadows said,
"Get inside."
And of course, I got inside
CHORUS
Madonna, is that really you
Madonna, what 'cha gonna do
Feelings only you can have
Never in the photograph
Feelings only you can have
Well, she took me back to her penthouse
And showed me all of her platinum records
And of course there were a lot
Then we sat on the sofa
And she turned on a classical station
But the reception was poor
And we sat there and talked
And talked a little more
And one thing lead to another
As they often do in these situations
All the stars are shining tonight for me
All the stars are shining tonight glory be
CHORUS
In the morning
She fixed me a continental breakfast
And then she said, "Well, goodbye."
And I said, "Can I see you again?"
And she said, "No."
And I said, "Well, goodbye."
And I never old anyone about this
'Cause after all
It's none of their business what she or I did.

Bonjour Monsieur Duchamp, sorry, your answer is incorrect. The question is, if there is "anybody else" who likes the Sparks. How could you be so sure, that there isn't? I am at least one, in fact a real big one.

I always liked the song Monster Of Love. Never had any idea that the band had that many albums

Damn! You are correct. For what it is worth, I have never actually heard anything of theirs. I don't dislike them.
