[/quote]
Yup - that's mine, too! Overandoverandoverandoverand... I guess we must both be the sentimental type.

A more common experience with this type of thing is when you have a tune/song insistently running through your head which you absolutely hate! Mine have included "Tie A Yellow Ribbon", and that classical thing, "Noss something-or-other", or something beginning with "Fl-..." - you know: duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh duh-duh-duh, duh-duh-duh, duh-duh-duh... Drives me fucking mad. A wonderful illustration of this is from that film, wotsitcalled, "The Peak"?, "The Edge"? "Something-or-other" (you can tell by this post that I have an impeccable memory), where the climber coming down from the mountain (whose rope had to be cut by his partner) has a Boney- M song tormenting his sanity. "The Rope"? "The Poor Sod Whose Partner Cut His Rope"? You know the one...

Sort of related to this is the fact I've always used Zappa albums as a really useful aide-memoire to place events in time and space. If someone in conversation, for example, says: "I left college in 1975," I will audibly mutter "Bongo Fury" under my breath. "I got married in the spring of '68," they'll say, and I will grunt "Lumpy Gravy". The only drawback is it stops working for me after 1984 or so. Seems I can only recall vinyl release dates, so I have to admit it's not what you'd call a perfect system...
