I saw it coming but I'm surprised that it happened today. So I too am blindsided by this sad news. Iggy and I will "soldier" on though.

L'Wren Scott, Mick Jagger's main squeeze, found dead

L'Wren Scott, a fashion designer and celebrity stylist who was Mick Jagger's girlfriend, has been found dead in Manhattan.

A law official said Scott's assistant found her on Monday morning (local time). The official said there was no sign of foul play.

A spokeswoman for Mick Jagger said the singer was "completely shocked and devastated by the news."

Jagger is in Australia, on tour with the Rolling Stones. The veteran rockers were due to play in New Zealand on April 5.

The Utah-born Scott had her own fashion label popular with celebrities. She was a fixture on Jagger's arm and, at around 190cm, towered over her famous boyfriend.

She founded her high-end label in 2006 and recently created a more affordable line of clothes with Banana Republic.

On the red carpet, she has dressed stars like Nicole Kidman, Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Jessica Parker and Angelina Jolie.

Just last month she cancelled her London Fashion Week show, due to reported production delays.

Tributes poured in from the twits on Twitter

PS They are now saying L'Wren was hanged...

May he rot in Hell...

Also announces on his death bed that he is gay.
I guess he didnt quite say it like that though.

Wow, that sucks. I like Gwar, but like DBX even more. The old Dave Brockie website never failed to crack me up.

Alter Dies

Hobart Alter, whose development of the foam surf board and the "Hobie Cat" sail boat brought masses to the water, has died. He was 80. A statement on the Hobie Sporting Goods web site says Alter died on Sunday at his California home. A cause of death was not disclosed. The Orange County Register reports he had been battling cancer.

Actor Mickey Rooney dies

Image

Actor Mickey Rooney, the pint-sized screen dynamo of the 1930s and 1940s best known for his boy-next-door role in the Andy Hardy movies, has died at 93, the TMZ celebrity website reported.

An MGM star in the 1930s and '40s, the 93-year-old's long career started as a child actor in a series of silent short comedies.

His movies included the Andy Hardy series, Captains Courageous, Boy's Town, National Velvet, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Requiem for a Heavyweight, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, The Black Stallion and Bill.

Rooney won two special Academy Awards as well as four nominations.

In recent years, his roles included George Miller's Babe: Pig In The City, Night at the Museum and The Muppets.

Rooney was married eight times, the first time to screen beauty Ava Gardner. Asked once if he would marry all his eight wives again, he said, "Absolutely. I loved every one of them."

Peaches Geldof dies

Image

Peaches Geldof (right), daughter of Bob Geldof and Paula Yates - and a media and fashion personality in her own right - has been found dead, age 25.

She leaves behind two young children, sons Astala Dylan Willow, born in 2012, and Phaedra Bloom Forever, born in 2013.

Her father Bob Geldof, the Band Aid concert organiser and musician, issued a statement to British media saying his family was "beyond pain."

"She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us," he said. "What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable?"

Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof was found dead by ambulance officers, following a call to police reporting concern for the welfare of a woman at an address near Wrotham, Kent, south-east of London.

"At this stage, the death is being treated as unexplained and sudden," a statement from Kent Police said.

Celebrities, including New Zealand singer Lorde, were quick to express their sorrow at the news.

In a recent interview with the UK-based Mother & Baby magazine, for which she was to be a columnist, Peaches Geldof talked about how her children were her life, The Daily Mail reported.

''I am not about to let them down, not for anyone or anything.''

The Mail reported she had said becoming a mother had healed a ''rudderless and troubled'' childhood.

''Becoming a mother was like becoming me, finally,'' she said.

A day before her death Peaches Geldof had posted a picture of herself, as a baby in her mother's arms, to her Instagram account.
