My deepest sympathy is with you MTF, I will include you and Bill in my prayers...Maybe Bill will run into Terri on the otherside, I'm sure she is running the joint by now...

Robin Williams dies of suspected suicide
Oscar-winning actor and comedian Robin Williams has died at age 63.
According to the Sheriff's department in Marin County, California, the actor has committed suicide.

Actor and comedian Robin Williams has died, officials say.

Police in Marin County, California released a statement to the Hollywood Reporter saying the 63-year-old was pronounced dead at his home at 12.02pm local time.

The death was a suspected suicide due to asphyxia, police said.

An investigation into the cause, manner and circumstances of the death was currently underway, with a forensic examination scheduled for August 12.

Last month the Mrs Doubtfire star checked into the Hazelden Addiction Treatment Center near Lindstrom, Minnesota for several weeks.

"After working back-to-back projects, Robin is simply taking the opportunity to fine-tune and focus on his continued commitment, of which he remains extremely proud," his spokesperson said at the time, according to TMZ.

Williams was open about his struggles with addiction. He went cold turkey after becoming reliant on cocaine and alcohol in the 1980s and was sober for 20 years before relapsing and checking into rehab in 2006.

He spoke to USA Today about his 2006 stint in rehab back in 2010. He revealed how scared he was after he started drinking again, because he would often have no recollection of what had happened the night before.

"I got help when I realised I was just destroying everything. When you're having blackouts on a regular basis. Blackouts, I joke, are like sleepwalking with activities. But those are really frightening, where you wake up and you have to have people (tell you what you did)," he explained. "And then you go, 'this is scary'."

:( :( :(

Oh no. There won't be another like RW. His stand up comedy, comedic acting, serious acting, voice-over work, late night talk show appearances and charity work left a huge impression all over the world. Lot of sad people hearing this news.

My best friend's Mother actually ran into Robin Williams at a local mall food court here nearly twenty years ago. She said, "You're Robin Williams!" He responded by putting his index finger up to his mouth, as if to say, "Shhhhhhhhhh." Shortly afterwards, she watched him for from a distance in the food court, and apparently, no one even noticed him there.

You were one of, if not THE best stand-ups in the business...

RIP, Robin.

Sad news, indeed.

He had a particular and rare talent that only a pretty small bunch of comedians has.
He could laugh at you and you'd laugh with him.
That's how great he was.

I remember having seen Jumanji with my daughter. Of course, we laughed.

Hope Jim Carrey won't emulate him. I, WE, need to laugh in this desesperate world ! :(

I was so shocked when I read the newspaper today....could not believe Robin Williams was gone, or that he was so depressed, he thought there was no way to deal with his demons but to leave this earth. So sad, and so sad for his family. While all the news coverage was being broadcast about him, then I hear about cool, stylish Lauren Bacall. Both icons and true individuals. Both great losses.

Brains and beauty. We are losing our few remaining actors from the golden age of Hollywood. She reminds me of a version of Cat Woman in this photo. MEOW!

I remember her doing commercials for Fancy Feast cat food.

Her and Boogy were super cool, RW always made me laugh and yet could play some super serious roles.

Oh dear... I first heard Lauren Bacall in the English dub of Howl's Moving Castle - she did so much better than the original!
